Great place for a family walk. Not too strenuous and on a clear day the view at the tower, in told is fantastic. Unfortunately it was very hazy when we went hence the photos of the carparking area. Would be great to have done form of cafe. Was £2.00 when we visited in April 2019 and you need the correct change to get in. Failing that there is a car park about half a mile further up near Offa's Dyke.

Moel Famau is a good location for a hike. There are good facilities nearby - toilets (lower car park), picnic tables, various long and short hiking routes and the fab but irregular 'Shed' too. Having the Jubilee Tower as a monument that you can mark and 'celebrate reaching the top' is a great bonus. We were on various hikes for charity so this was a great novelty factor.
Car parking is plentiful and cheap. Don't park on the dirt road leading to the car park - help support the maintenance of area and landscape by paying £1.50 to park whilst you hike!
We're planning on coming back later in the summer to do a longer distance hike.

Fantastic walk , I always take the dorect route up and come back down the long way
Great parking . Remember your £2 . It does get busy in peak sessions. There are toilets. At the start.

Amazing views of the surrounding countryside taking in the Clwyd Valley, Snowdonia, Cheshire, Wirral Peninsula, Liverpool Bay and if it is a really clear day, Blackpool Tower! It takes about 40 minutes to an hour to walk to from the Bwlch Penbarras car park along a good path that is quite steep in parts but well worth the effort!

Great place to visit for the day. There are multiple routes to the top, some easy and some quite demanding.

Most routes can be accessed from any of the three available carparks.

The upper and lower carparks have a track that runs parallel to the road so if you park at one and come down the wrong way to other you can just use the track between them to get back to your car.

The carpark at Loggerhead is separated so if you make a mistake with that one you would either need to head back up the mountain or walk about 40 minutes along the main road to get back to the other two car parks.

Usually lots of friendly people to chat and say hello to.

Great place to walk with kids and/or a dog & a good starter Hill if your new to hiking as from the car park to the summit is only 1.7 miles, although you can leave the summit & continue on to Moel Arthur & then back again for a total round trip of 10 miles which is a superb way to keep fit
