Crouch Street Launderette

Our washing machine stopped working this week so we had to bring our dirty laundry to a local launderette. We went into Crouch Street Launderette and was politely served by the manageress who was very helpful in explaining what to do and how much it would cost for both the washing machines and the dryers. The manageress was also very friendly and also told me when I asked that I couldn't park my car a second time in a different parking space in the Crouch Street restricted parking zone within 20 minutes and suggested I park in the 2 hour parking zone just further up - other drivers take note! All in all, a first class service. Five stars. Would come again if I needed to.

Great service, useful place saved my ass a few times when I've need clothes washed for work.
Great for getting blood stains out of my clothes quickly :).
Also been pretty much taught how to wash my clothes properly by staff.

Good laundry and service with dry cleaners

I’ve used the services of Crouch Street Laundrette ever since I’ve been in Colchester, 5 years ago, up until today, when I went to pick up my jacket. I can’t fault their cleaning services, but the attitude of the shop assistant has been absolutely disgusting. I entered the shop, said “hello” without any kind of come back, indeed, I was speaking over the phone. My job keeps me on the phone most of the time. Waited for a while, time in which another customer entered the shop, then she told me “I will not serve you, because you’re on the phone and it’s rude!”. I apologized, walked outside, finished my phone call, walked back in, apologized again and gave her my pick up note for my jacket and then she served me, without saying anything. Firstly, I did not notice any sign with a phone being forbidden for use inside. Second, I did say hello, was not an ignorant, disrespectful customer. I will not be using this service again, as for the young shop assistant, darling, be sure robots will not consider me rude in 5-10 years time from now on.

It was good as I could do my washing within 1 hour and a half, and the young lady was pleasant.

Good location, fast service.

Make sure to bring coins. £4 in singles for washing machine. Bring detergent or buy across the street at Tesco. Takes about 20 minutes for washing machine.
Drying is extra, around £3
