Very poor correspondence. Always having to chase up solicitor. Then they loose my original copy of power of attorney, and deny all knowledge. Definitely not recommend.

We used Chattertons twice this year for selling and purchasing a parents and then our own home.
The process both times was dealt with promptly and professionally. Communication via email was efficient and we never felt that we needed to chase for any information. Katherine and her team were all very friendly and even being able to drop documents off at a nearer office, where necessary, made the whole process so much easier.

Recent dealings with David Guille at the Boston office and he was fantastic. The transaction was particularly challenging and David's help was one of the main reasons the sale was able to go through.

Chattertons acted for me in two house sales during 2021 (the year of the stamp duty holiday) and my conveyancing executive declared they were very busy. However, there could be no excuse for the two spelling errors in my name AND posting confidential forms to the wrong address (number 16 instead of 61). Not an auspicious start!
Communication was mainly by email particularly when phone calls were annoyingly diverted to voicemail.
I have successfully used an online conveyancer before (2013 @ £188) and regret the £1731 spent on this ‘High Street’ conveyancer.
