I cant give a 0 star review otherwise I would. Appointed this firm on two purchases and have to say worst firm in my 25 years of property dealing. First the solicitor left the firm and another solicioat the firm was appointed. They lost the paperwork and started from scratch and requoted me a higher price for a job already agreed and signed contracts for. Then the second solicitor also left the firm and I was appointed a third solicitor who took 5 weeks to even look at the files. Did a very poor job and response to my complaint was to refer to my terms and conditions for the complaints manager. I contacted the firm who told me that the complaints manager on my terms and conditions had retired in 2017. The subsequent complaint was handled very poorly and totally factually incorrect. Managed to finally get through one purchase after EIGHT MONTHS there was no chain but they were negligent in so many ways. There were also issues on day of exchange and completion. Second purchase they withdrew from and also had the nerve to invoice me for £360 on a bogus claim that I tried to influence them on aspects of the purchase. When I pointed out they had completely inaccurate facts they ignored this and gave a rude response this was from a partner. They tried to force me to pay the bill with phone calls a letter and email which I refused. They also would not return the searches I had paid them £300 for or the forms I had signed by another solicitor. As a result I put of pocket by over £1000. I have referred to legal ombudsman and I will ensure that I go to court out of principal. If necessary. I have also raised with the lender to get them stripped of status on the panel. Avoid this firm plenty of better and cheaper firms out there. I have all of this in emails so if they would like to respond to this reference I suggest they provide some proof to refute anything I have said. They had a chance to resolve this easily but opted to try and bully me and get money from me by getting the lender know I owed money per their false invoice this was on the unrelated transaction for which I had to pay them. Looking forward to my day in court for a company that has problems where clearly employees don't want to work there.

They are what you need to get the job done! I came across H&R in 2010 by chance, to buy my first house. Our purchase was handled by M. Frisby who did an incredible job, she went through all the mandatory steps and went far over the extra mile by explaining us (foreigners and first buyers) everything else we needed to know with professionalism, courtesy and something that nowadays is quite uncommon: a big smile.
She fiercely protected us against the developer who tried to play some last minute games: no way, she did not let them pass!
In 2019 we sold that property and made the big mistake to trust the estate agent who suggested us another solicitor. After 4 months, and some extra expenses (that normally are on the buyer) we ended up with no sale, no buyer, no help whatsoever and less money in our pockets. Then we decide to contact M. Frisby and almost magically we find a fierce ally: competent, easy to contact and highly reactive to anything one could throw at her. In few weeks she managed to fix all the issues caused by our previous firm and the first firm of our new buyer. Despite the CoVid-19 situation and countless challenges we did throw at her because of our peculiar circumstances, she managed to complete our sale. I am giving 5/5 stars only because I can't do 10/5, but she surely deserves them all.

Superb conveyancing service for selling our relative's house - best we've ever had. Michelle Frisby was very quick, helpful and efficient. Cost a bit more than some, but more than worth it for the time and hassle saved.

DO NOT USE - these are quite possibly the worst solicitors in the area they are unprofessional and incompetent to the point where they have lost our documents and we are now having to go to another solicitors after trying for over a year to move forward with the sale of our house as they still even now can’t give us a deadline with it. How these have managed to get their law degree I don’t know but they are useless.

Reception staff are polite, efficient and helpful.
Solicitor took 4 months to reply to a letter. We are going elsewhere.

If I could give this company of solicitors no stars, I would. Please do not waste your time here. They are simply not up to the job and had I not sought alternative legal advice, I would have lost thousands of pounds. Very poor service, slow to respond and quite simply, incompetent. Avoid!

Unfortunately I can't speak to the legal quality of this firm however they were totally unavailable or willing to schedule a quick 5 minute phone call to discuss a family legal matter and if they'd be able to help and wanted a payment of £350 to meet in person for an initial consultation. As someone who runs a consulting business I understand the need to be paid for your time, however it is also important to have an initial conversation to talk through the options, costs, and establish an initial working relationship before getting a retainer in place.

Would most definitely recommend. I'm not local to Loughborough and had never used H&R before.
When my grandfather passed away in Sept 2020 my whole world collapsed Ann Farnill assisted me with the probate element and Michelle Frisby with the conveyancing process. Given that we are currently in a global pandemic I thought the process might become disjointed and be blamed on Covid-19, but my experience was the complete opposite. Ann and Michelle were there to support and guide me every step of the way under each process. Communication was second to none and I never felt like I was kept in the dark about anything or that the information provided was unclear. Most of the information fed back was via email, which I found incredibly beneficial as it gave me time to digest and make informed decisions. There was never any pressure to make rash decisions, but time dedicated to make sure I was comfortable and understood the steps. Ann and Michelle, I can’t thank you both enough for your continued support and assistance. You are both incredibly professional, compassionate, and straight talking.
