Baker MacDonald Solicitors

I've been using this firm for years now and I never have posted a note about how good they are. My solicitor is personable and knowledgeable and has given me good counsel on a number of matters - certainly more that the conveyancing that I originally went to them for. They seem to have access to a wide variety of specialisations that make them feel more like the solicitors firms of yesteryear - able to advise of a multiplicity of matters rather than just specialising in one area. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and service.

While they did not actually do anything wrong the whole experience was awful. I don’t recall a telephone call being replied to until I said I was going to go through the ombudsman or “camp out” on their doorstep. This has caused a lot of stress and the whole process of a simple probate has taken 13 months. Very nice people though.

Personal service given, and with care- after a close family bereavement, Mike Baker and the staff treated us with dignity, and were so very helpful at a difficult, upsetting time.

My experience is similar to that of Valerie Palmer - a simple probate and house sale. The warnings were all over the initial letter of engagement, we should have walked away then, way too many careless mistakes, to the extent that the gender of the senior partner changed 3 times in a single paragraph! Phone calls not answered, deadlines missed, when I wanted to complain I was promised a callback which never came. The final straw was when our solicitor admitted that if I'd not chased and chased her a second house sale would have been needlessly delayed and probably lost!
Nobody needs this amount of added stress and has the time to waste particularly during an already difficult period in your life.

Contacted Baker Macdonald Solicitors this morning with an urgent request for a meeting today to discuss a personal matter, which required confirmation of documents and witnessing of statements. We were in his meeting room within 2 hours. We were met by his assistant who followed all the Covid precautions before being greeted by Mr Baker.
He was most efficient with our business and gave us the appropriate advice.
This is not the first time we have Baker Macdonald Solicitors and I would thoroughly recommend them for their services.
