Would give zero stars if I could. Firm is representing my buyer in the sale of my flat. Doesn't respond to call or emails. Has sent the same enquires 3 times and then doesn't acknowledge receipt of replies. Been trying to organise exchange and completion since May 6th. Have had the Buyer my solicitor and the estate agent chasing on a near daily basis and have had no response. I am now on the cusp of losing my dream home as a 12 week process is entering its 7th month. My mortgage offer is almost expired and the new offers are far more expensive. This whole experience has been disgraceful

Updated review 2 months after original transaction:
I received a late penalty payment by HMRC because CLG failed to pay the Stamp Duty within the 14 day timeframe. It took 6 weeks and a threat of going to the Legal Ombudsman to get CLG to reimburse the fine. Suffice to say, they did NOT add a token ex Gratia amount to compensate me for this appallingly bad service.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!

I used CLG based upon the Estate Agent recommendation.
This was a huge error and I wished I had researched this organisation better.
CLG customer service ranks as the worst I can ever recall in all areas of my life as a consumer (and I'm 52 years old).
Their service was acceptable until about 6 weeks into the conveyancing process and then it became absolutely appalling.... leading me to believe that after six weeks they know they have you on the hook and cancelling their service is untenable.
Avoid at all costs.

I was recommended to them by the developer to use their services

They were unresponsive and unprofessional and expected to pay a £500 fee without ever having got on the phone with me

I decided to go with another solicitor and it worked out just as well and even better

Would not recommend Cavendish

If I could give them a ZERO, I would. Our case manager was so slow, she was never reachable. There is no point calling them because the poor receptionists will be the only people you will speak to. We eventually completed in July after chasing them every single day for months. The case manager has now left and we were reassigned a new person. But we are now in September, in reciept of a HMRC penalty after they didnt pay stamp duty etc. On time. They promised to pay the penalty but didn't. NOT TO MENTION, they have not even registered the land in our names. Its leaving us anxious, im going to be formally complaining to the CLC. If you are buying a property, avoid Cavendish Legal Group at all costs.

Extremely disappointed with our experience with Danielle Lane. Initial contact was in April and she never took an interest from that moment onwards, delaying the exchange to the point I had to go and get the keys and put it back on the market, only then her colleague took over and managed to do the exchange. This was 8 months later! In the meantime I lost thousands due to Danielles delays and constant leave. Stay away and find a competent solicitor and company.

Jonathan was very responsive despite our time difference and managed the case well. He was also helpful with late interest waiver request when my mortgage offer was delayed. Overall a good experience.

Very disappointed especially with some shark tactics by Caroline Walker. Will attempt to invoice you for work she never completed before you told her no need to. Make sure if this happens you request time stamps

He has been very professional and responsive with all my files. Definitely one of the best solicitor in town.
