I hired them for an housing problem many years ago. The solicitor I had to represent me was absolutely useless. She shared information with the other side which I had requested should not happen. She never took the necessary steps for an optimal outcome. The only wise actions were the ones that I decided and acted on myself which evntually achieved the outcome which was preferential. My overall impression they just wanted the fee

Very Inexperience staff.
Completely mishandled the case. I had hired them for the purchase of a new build property. They ignored an important element in the process of completing the Transfer and Registered Title document.

Due to this mistake in the title document no lender is willing to Remortgage the property and its proving to be a lengthy and tiresome process to get this rectified. Now I am feeling like being cheated as they appeared to have acted in the favour of the Builder rather than me who paid all their fees.

Not recommended!

This solicitors is the worse ever for a house move !!!!
When do they actually reply or know how to do there job ???
Rude and incompetent definitely a case for the ombudsman !!!!
Iv never been spoke to with such disrespect when your paying for a service you expect a good standard of professionalism.
I would definitely look elsewhere if you need help with a house sale.

Appalling company. Total waste of time. Lack of communication from the start. Constantly have to call them to find out information and they threaten you with extra fees for pestering them. Incompetent staff who do not want to be bothered. Submitted paperwork and they lost it, then lied saying they never received it, but miraculously had one document which had been submitted with the paperwork we submitted which they said they didn't receive. Awful experience. 11months to complete the process of selling a house. Stay well away.

I’ve had to rate 1 star because it physically wont let me rate this the zero this company deserves. I’ve never come across such expensive incompetence. We came across Talbots as they were recommended to us by our new build company as a trusted solicitor. The only redeeming feature of this company was the initial enquiries team the gentleman I spoke to was polite and responded quickly. However once we were handed over to our solicitors team we realised just quite how poor the service was. Our solicitor could quite simply never be interested in taking our calls but we’re extremely willing and helpful to update our new build company directly. If nothing else disrespectful as they were my solicitor not the solicitor representing my new build. The team in general lacked basic checking skills and as an organised individual found it beyond a joke that the team I was working with seemed either unable to read or too lazy to read the documents enclosed constantly asking for documents and information I had already sent them. If you’re using this company get used to typing “please see my previous email”. This then only lead to being given a completion date, confirmed and all fees paid two days in advance, only to find out on the day when our whole house packed into the back of a van that our solicitor hadn’t agreed a moving date with the buyers and their solicitor as well as the company we were purchasing from had no idea any of this had been agreed. We then spent the next week in a version of hell sleeping on the one mattress we managed to rescue from the moving van wasting thousands of pounds having our items put in storage and paying for the moving company twice as well as time off work and pet care all having to be rebooked. I then had to take it upon myself to co ordinate the whole move as quite frankly Talbots couldn’t care less about the situation their incompetence had left us in. I called multiple times everyday to ensure they had now done the very basics their job entailed as well as loading myself with the buyers solicitors and the company we were purchasing off as quite frankly we were not willing for them to mess it up again. I had been charged additionally due to “missing documents” that I had provided to them at least twice and when we raised a complaint they insisted that it was all our buyers’ solicitors fault and there was nothing they could have done to prevent it happening. If you cannot spot the many errors that occurred on their own part then quite frankly I don’t trust they are competent to check any paperwork for a house sale/purchase. They offered us a £250 gesture but quite frankly it by no means covers the additional expenses both wrongly charged to our account for missing paperwork, charges for moving the money from accounts multiple times or the amount we had to pay to move house twice. If nothing else we would have appreciated an apology and admitting their fault but they couldn’t even do that continuing to insist it is every else’s fault not theirs. Disgusting treatment throughout honestly find literally anyone else to be your solicitor!

Lisa Burton recently acted for us on our house purchase. It was not the smoothest transaction but Lisa acted swiftly and professionally at all times. I would recommend her and the conveyancing department.

Thank you to Talbots Law who acted for me during my recent house sale and purchase. The process was not a straightforward one, yet Lisa, Debbie and Harkirat were quick to keep me informed and action all stages of the process. It was refreshing to deal with professionals who were both efficient, polite and understanding. Thank you!
