I used Stephens Scown Solicitors and received support from Ellie Hibberd. Ellie provided excellent legal guidance during an incredibly stressful time. She answered all my questions, had excellent communication and legal expertise. She is knowledgable, kind, and a great solicitor/person to have in your corner. Thank you, Ellie!

In 3 years of dealing with this company their conduct has been nothing less than diabolical. Communication breaks down , emails are treated as an excuse to be keyboard warriors. All I really wanted was someone to pick up the phone and talk politely to me. I expect in a further 10 years time they will still be using covid as an excuse for not getting on with the task they should be.

What can you say for a company that kneels to the whim of your forma spouse without giving any honest, professional advice. Clearly solicitor's these days will do anything to stretch out a case to milk a client for all the money they can. Stephens Scown are no exception. My ex had absolutely no legal standing in what she wanted from me financially yet Stephens Scown were happy to endorse her, even to the tune of enabling her revenge on me by not signing a new, affordable Fixed rate Mortgage deal (just before Sept 22 interest rate hikes). I have them to thank for making my child lose his childhood home. An absolute horror show of a company. Avoid at all costs and seek support from someone you know.

I would highly recommend Stephens Scown. The service was efficient, the communication clear and matters were resolved with the less amount of hassle possible. In particular Harriet Wigmore, who dealt with my case, she is very approachable and was always quick to respond to questions and resolved issues quickly.

I was in receipt of constantly depressing advice when using another firm for my divorce before I jumped ship and asked Andy Barton take on my case. I would not have believed the difference he could make. I estimate that he saved me about £200k and enabled me to feel that I was able to achieve a relatively fair outcome with attendant psychological and emotional benefits.

Contracted for Stephens Scown for approx. 14mths during COVID and such a great company to work for. Culturally, they place a huge emphasis on personal development and training which ultimately translates into how clients are dealt with day-to-day. Highly recommended.

We have recently worked with Amber Ballans from the Stephens Scown team on an issue in a tricky area of employment law. Amber was a tremendous help to us with this, and was instrumental in our achieving a successful outcome to the issue. We were provided with swift, comprehensive and thoughtful advice and information, along with much appreciated reassurance during what could have been a very stressful process. We would wholeheartedly recommend Amber, and the wider team we have worked with at Stephens Scown. MB
