Recently sold our old house and used Timms through the process. My solicitor (Shelly) was great all the way through, kept me informed of each process, chased information for me and was always pleasant on the phone. Made what is a stressful process that much easier and at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend

I used Shelly Pill for the conveyancing on a property I purchased in Derby. She was very good and communicated well throughout the purchase, I didn't have to chase for any updates as she was always on the ball. Highly recommend.

Sherrie, Tracey and the team at TIMMS in Burton have been fantastic through the entire process of purchasing my first home. The support, communication, guidance and advice they provided has been priceless.

Although they weren't the cheapest provider for conveyancing fees, they were still very reasonable and it has been worth every penny. It has been a total of 10 weeks from offer to completion of purchase, and during this time they have been clear and open about everything that needed to take place. They have worked closely with all of the people involved to complete this purchase.

Cannot recommend them enough!

Saw Jo Robinson from Timms, as I had a complication with a will and a house sale. Had actually been using a different solicitor for conveyancing, but they were incredibly slower in offering any advice on the matter, in the time it took them to even respond to an enquiry, I had been able to arrange to meet with Jo who took the time to explain all the options, as well as the pros and cons and was able to resolve the matter completely to my satisfaction. Jo was very professional, courteous and personable. Timms fees for conveyancing were much more competitive than the other solicitor, with hindsight I would have preferred to use Timms for the conveyancing as well. Would highly recommend, I will be using them again myself. Thanks Jo.

Update: their response is almost comical, they have my contact details and I asked repeatedly to speak to a partner or someone senior over literally dozens of phone calls and emails where I copied in their general email address, and have been flat out ignored- they really don't care. As their staff don't take calls, only reception messages, thats a pretty empty offer to discuss it. A professional organisation would apologise for the experience, rather than using the faux apology that they're 'sorry to read it'. Not sorry this happened- took a week to respond, clearly checking to see if there's any way they can deny it, but evidence is all there. And a good company would've done a better job in the first place- you shouldn't only care when negative reviews are posted publicly, you should listen to a client's complaint from the get go and tell them how you're going to fix it, as well as giving a genuine apology, which I've never received. If you're buying a home I would seriously not recommend them

Used Timms to buy a home, property solicitor Sherrie Litherland ignored the seller's solicitor's emails, when I found out she was holding up the sale I politely asked her to take care of it and to make sure she answered emails promptly, so we could get the sale done, and she went mental and wrote really nasty and rude emails telling me this is how it works, it's the seller's solicitor's fault the sale is taking so long and I should find another solicitor because she has too many cases and doesn't want to deal with mine. I called and asked to speak to her, was told she doesn't take calls, I asked to speak to a member of the company complaints team, then I started panicking because I was being ignored. I remained polite but was firm that I needed them to do something because this wasn't normal.

Sherrie was more interested in pointing out that I'd overestimated slightly how much I was paying her because of land registry fees than apologising for her numerous failures or doing her job properly- that email was the quickest one I ever received from her, every other email took a minimum of 2 days to get a response. Timms never got back to me about my complaint about Sherrie. After a couple of days, during which I had contacted several other solicitors, all of whom said this was normal from Timms because they had heard many other complaints about them but I was very late in the process so see what she says, I was eventually told by Sherrie things were moving. After that she finally starting doing things and the sale was completed shortly afterwards because her lack of action was all that had been holding it up for about 6 weeks. I was lucky I found out she was ignoring the seller's solicitor as it very nearly caused the seller to pull out because he was tired of her inaction, and she made what should've been a fun experience a horrible one. She also never apologised for her rude emails and remained impolite throughout the process- anything I asked her to explain or help me with she ignored, and her emails were very unclear. Luckily, I have a good support network of people who've bought homes before or who work in that sector and my estate agent was very helpful.

The one thing I will say is the receptionists are lovely, and the paralegals she had were lovely and tried their best to help me, although they had a high turnover of staff during the several months I had to deal with them. As such, whenever a staff change occurred I had to deal with Sherrie and she left everything and didn't seem interested in my case, which is why things went so badly. When she had support staff sending emails and managing cases for her, things were OK, but it was when they left that things unravelled because Sherrie clearly was neither very good at nor interested in her job. I haven't used them for anything else so couldn't say how they act in those instances.

Currently buying a property and using Timms to act on our behalf, was advised after no response for days that our solicitor had left and a locum was being appointed, after nearly getting to completion (chasing a date) using their locum we have today realised that the emails we’ve been sending over the last 48 hours have been dropping into our junk box as sender is no longer on this email address, which now suggests the locum has also left, which means after 18 weeks on a simple sale (no chain & cash purchase), we’re left in limbo again with no one informing us.

Avoid at all costs, and read the review ahead of ours.

We plan to go camp at the their offices tomorrow until someone gets us a fixed completion date set.

Absolutely shocking - please save yourself the hassle and use a reputable solicitor.

Worked with Melissa Knight, she was excellent in her approach and was always on hand to reassure me and answer any questions.

Jo Robinson dealt with a couple of legal queries I had recently. As well as being highly professional, Jo is also very personable, showing a genuine interest in me and the issue at hand. I can't recommend Jo highly enough.
