Fantastic service from Hawley and Rodgers at Long Eaton. A very professional, friendly and efficent team and we would highly recommend them. Lisa and Marie dealt with our house purchase and they were great. Their communication was brilliant and they always reassured us that everything was being sorted and it did all get sorted. We are now happy in our new home thanks to Lisa and Marie 😊

Used Hawley and Rodgers for conveyancing on a property purchase in London. Very happy with my experience dealing with Lisa and team. She was very responsive and patient with a tricky group of stakeholders in the chain, and helped us move the process as quickly as possible. Would recommend for anyone thinking of using them.

Excellent service. They saying buying a house is one of the most stressful parts of your life but Lisa at Hawley and Rogers was brilliant and it was far from stressful.

As a first time buyer I was unsure who to use, but so glad I chose Hawley and Rogers (Lisa). 95% of the communication was done via email which due to my job made life easier as I can't always answer calls.

It took (just) less than 6 weeks from my offer being accepted to getting my keys. Communication was brilliant, all my questions were answered promptly via email.

I would highly recommend.

I highly recommend Hawley and Rodgers at Long Eaton. They have dealt with my sale and purchase and I was really impressed with the professionalism and the high level of work that was undertaken on my behalf. I was kept up to date with some issues that came along the way and they worked hard to resolve them as quickly as they could. Kim and Tara worked really hard and if I ever needed anything I was able to pop in the office or telephone and 9/10 times I got through to one of them only having to leave a message on a couple of occasions to which they always responded that same day. Completion went through really fast and luckily I was able to pick up my keys by lunchtime (I had a very small chain). Overall I couldn’t have asked for a better service and I have and will recommend this company to all my friends and family who are looking to move house in the future.

My company did some work for a probate property being dealt with by Hawley and Rodgers Long Eaton. We were basically begged to do the job, we don't normally work with clients we don't know, but in this case we thought because they are a solicitors that we would have no issue receiving payment. 4 Months on and still no payment, the person that we were originally dealing with (who we had not received a response to the 5 emails we had sent) has now left the company. Her email's were not forwarded onto anyone else after she left and I could not get through on the phone until today.

They are now saying that they are refusing to pay us until they receive a paper invoice due to company policy because apparently a digital invoices can be faked. Well I have news, so can a paper invoice. I offered to send a copy of my business bank card, blank cheque or paying in slip to prove the correct bank details but hit a brick wall.

These policies are archaic and ridiculous in this day and age and the fact that they are not able able to set a forward email up on staff that leave the business is questionable. If this business asks you to do any sort of work to a property on their behalf, I would recommend declining. I would give this 1 Start but I have not had any dealings with their actual legal services so I feel it unjust to give 1 star on this basis.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews (this is my first) but think it’s important to give an honest review as there may be people like me who are basing their decision of which solicitor to use based off existing ones.
Our experience with H&R really wasn’t great. The process of buying and selling a house is already stressful but I feel it was more stressful due to the staff members I dealt with at this solicitors (from reviews it seems your experience very much depends on who you get). The solicitor got the names on the property wrong and after I pointed this out suggested just crossing them out on the forms (seems unprofessional on an important legal document) and did things like getting the mortgage amount wrong too, they are just 2 examples of basic mistakes. These kinds of things eroded our trust in them. They were also quite rude in tone on the phone (only phoned a few times during the process) and there was an issue with HRMC where they were sending us the stamp duty bill and many reminders about this for a few months afterwards.
Overall we got the house we wanted but wouldn’t recommend their services and would definitely choose another solicitor in future.

The people here are really nice and friendly and I had a nice experience with them. I had to chase up now and again and push for things to happen on the odd occasion but assist from that everything went through smoothly.

Not too sure if this is anything on the solicitors part; however, the completion date couldn't be confirmed until pretty much a couple of days before the move so had to get things arranged last minute. Might have been stamp duty holiday etc affecting this, not sure.

Would probably use again as they're a good solicitor

When using a solicitor, one expects at the very least, professional and courteous attention from them. I have to say that at Hawley and Rogers this is in very short supply. The person I had the misfortune to deal with was rude to me over the phone, and as far as I can see, she should certainly not be dealing with the general public. Would I recommend this company? Certainly not.
