My husband died suddenly and I went to Rollos for assistance to settle the probate. I asked for a quote several times and after about 8 months finally got a verbal one. Three months later they billed me for 8 times more than the verbal quote! I would say they totally ambushed me. And when I asked how they could possibly justify the bill they didn't have much of an answer. I was still struggling to get over the sudden and totally unexpected death of my husband and didn't have the mental or emotional reserves to fight it, so I ended up paying a fortune. Get a quote in writing, and insist on getting it from the outset, that's what I've learnt. Funnily enough, I went to Africa the next year for a 3 month period and Rollos sent me an email there saying the probate settlement had finally been transferred to my account but they had done it twice by accident. They wanted me to arrange to transfer the second sum, back to their account, and kept emailing and phoning about it. It was very tiresome and frustrating. There must be more competent solicitors out there.

Rollos made my house purchase about as stressful as it could possibly be. They stalled the sale for 4 months. The house was a vacant possession but needed emptied. It was left in a disgraceful manner. After I complained to them they gave out my personal details to a local family who have been oppressive to me since the 1st day I moved in. I had Rollos Cupar sell my house in Nov 22. The estate agency team were Janie, Louise and Scott. I can't speak highly enough of them. My buyer fell in love with my property after seeing Janie's photos, Louise kept me informed at all times and Scott negotiated a price beyond my expectations and above home report. My house was sold after the very first viewing, one day after being placed on the net.
Rollos Cupar also did the legal side and David took time to explain Scottish law to me in a manner easily understood. Audrey took up the baton later and saw me through to buying and selling completion, seamlessly. Fees were reasonable and in line with my quotation.
I would recommend Rollos wholeheartedly. They looked after me impeccably.

Make sure you get a full quote including all the hidden extras, my £550 quote ended up three times the amount, also even after telling them I would prefer email contact they insisted on posting everything often standard docs were sent in triplicate and in separate envelopes

Rollos are expensive and staff are rude. Seek assistance elsewhere. I had a terrible experience using them.

This firm seems to operate at a glacial pace and are uncommunicatave. Avoid.
