The receptionist was kind and we didn't wait too long to get inside.
The pool was warm and perfect a perfect temperature for kids, if you are an adult you would probably prefer it colder though. No problem for me as I was there with multiple kids including a 3 year old that was comfortable in the water.
Its a fun swimming pool for kids with a great slide that you will only use once because of the queue and the fact that it's closed most the time and only opens for a short window in between sessions .
The reason for a low rating is the foul hygiene, I've been to many swimming places and this is by far the dirtiest. Hair and other stuff I'd rather not mention all over the changing room floors. The mens changing room in particular smells awful and can be smelt from outside the changing room in the area near the showers.
The family changing area/group changing is also awfully grimm. I felt very uncomfortable getting changed.
I want to come back because the pool experience itself was good but I likely won't because the hygiene is so bad I'd rather not.
This place needs more regular cleaning between sessions or even during sessions when everyone is in the pool.
I know most swimming pool places don't have perfect hygiene and I can usually put up with it, but this place was just miles off which hygiene. The following day I contracted Covid-19 and I cant say I'm not surprised.
I'm now isolating and may potentially miss my holiday
When entering the pool I was stoped by the life gaurd who asked my age and as I told him Im nearly 30 years old he laughed and started to decriminat against me.
After as short swim in a very unhygienic pool (filled with hairs, dirt and bits of debris floating around) every one was made to get out the pool and stand at the side like chrildren which made me have to end my swim short because my disability as can't stand for long periods of time. (Maybe if your going to use this method of remove anit social people then you should provide seating for disabled and elderly people at pool side)
So after leaving I went to the front desk to ask for a refund were I was told to wait for a manager that took over 20mins before speaking to me still didn't get a refund but the managers aprently going to speak to customer service and get back to me. Hopefully they can improve on these problems to provide a better service as with 2 pools, water slides and a gym it has the potential to be a good leisure centre.
I was in the sauna, there was no one except me. Staff named Amy came to me and asked about my booking for the sauna and I said no then she left the door open and shut the heater and lights without any warning or explanation. I didn't know that I needed booking for the sauna. After that I left the sauna and went to take shower. Until I come back she threw my bottle of water into the bin. It was on the hump next to the sauna. I called and asked her about my bottle of water. She didn't even look at the back to respond to me. Then she came back and I asked again, she pointed the bin and said that it's inside there and told me to take it from the bin and said that the bin was clean. I asked the reason "why?" She said that she was cleaning. It was around 16:45 on 29th of October, Saturday. Her name was Amy.
I have never seen any service like that before. There is no explanation, no warning and on top of that very rude.
Why isn't anyone teaching the staff how to treat to customers?!
Why isn't nobody controlling her?!
Why should I be treated like that as a member who is paying there monthly?!
Who gave her the right to treat members like this?!
I hope, you will check this review to improve your service in the future in order to not lose your loyal members!
I have to say I was rather disappointed in the pool’s temperature, as my 16 week old was shivering and even myself and my partner found the water to be a shock when we entered the baby’s pool, due to the coldness. The normal/recommended temperature for babies under 6months in a pool should be 30-32 degrees. The water we was in was between 26-27 degrees.
As for the changing facilities… there isn’t enough changing stations for babies in the family changing department, and majority of the bins were overflowing (so shows they are not regularly checked.)
As for the women’s toilet (there are only 3 cubicals) two were blocked up with toilet paper and the third was just a mess.
First time going here as thought it would be good for my family and my eldest child as there was slides.
On a positive note… the staff are very nice and pleasant.
