Took the opportunity to visit yesterday, while my car was in a local garage. My main aim was to see if there were any new books covering aircraft modelling and simulation, and to see if I could find anything that explained the basics of flight control system design using non-linear dynamic inversion (NLDI (which I believe was used in design of the flight control system of the F35). Drew a blank on both, but got a look at the third edition of the Cook book, to compare with my first edition and find out what's new (not much, but at least some of the minor errors are fixed). Tony, the librarian, was extremely helpful, and searched through their database of conference papers, locating sever mentions of NLDI from a conference in 2012. Also explained to me how to locate these online (service only available free to Royal Aeronautical Society members, which I am).
