Absolutely love this Library, the children's section is full of fun, there's plenty to read, location is perfect, staff are friendly and has toilets and baby changing which is a bonus.

Such a valuable and unappreciated resource! I come here regularly with my little boy, the kids corner is great, it gets us out and is a nice space to spend time together! He particularly likes the floor animation! Recently I've also used the library for urgent photocopying and printing despite having all these abilities at home the library saved me from having to go back there and come back into town again!

I enjoy coming here to read, study, and work. The environment is very clean and conducive to focusing. The workers are quite pleasant and readily available. Getting a library card here was quick and easy. There's a children's section that has a play area as well as lots of books for kids. There are plenty of power outlets as well as desks so feel free to bring your laptop. There's also free wireless internet available. It's one of my favorite places to go in the city center.

We always love it when we come here, my daughter and I. We would love to live closer to the library, we would come here every day if we could. Sometimes it's a bit too noisy, people talk to loud, unfortunately.

one of my favourite spots in chelmsford. as a teen, i often find myself in town with time to kill but not much to kill it with, and as a nerd, will often gravitate to somewhere where i can read. the options are relatively slim: waterstones, foyles, library (at least they're what i can think of). too many people i know shop at waterstones, so nicking a book from the fiction bit and sitting down on the floor upstairs near the history section to read is a less acceptable activity when people are watching, and inevitably judging me. foyles scares me. so that leaves the library. nice alcoves to sit on the floor of. there are chairs, but i like sitting on the floor right at the back, hidden, just with a book. and this is an idyllic place to do it in.
