Tonbridge Library

Toilets once were open there. What bothers me is there is supposed to be a quiet study area however the loud mouthed libarain would rather shout across the hall to other visitors her personal business for a long time. Libraries are supposed to be quiet, but, people chat loudly, librarians make a lot of noise stomping around in high heels and then people are shouting down their cell-phones. A library should be a near silent place where people can visit, read, write and do not communicate when there are local coffee houses they can have their conversations in. No wonder councils are closing them as the staff are loud and lazy.

It's a nice little library with good facilities but every time I go in the staff or people in there are chatting very loudly. I don't mind the odd child or baby gurgling but full on chatter in as loud a voice as is humanly possible is unreasonable behaviour in a place of education and shouldn't be encouraged. The staff always bang their internal staff door heavily too. There is no sound sensitivity in that place whatsoever - which would also not be good if you were on the autistic spectrum (I'm not, by the way).

Libraries always used to be quiet places for work and study but increasingly people behave disrespectfully.

Not a good library if you’re looking for a quiet place to work or study. The librarians are so loud and just stand around chatting about their lives for everyone to hear.

Library is the centre of Tonbridge No one will miss the corner building. But library membership in other places around UK is much simpler process than here!!

Young children sessions with reward certificates; lots of PCs for browsing; chairs and desks for reading; water dispenser (bring your own cups); toilet.

Comfy library and staff always pleasant and helpful.

I miss sooooo much the library. One of my favourites places to go. The staff is very helpful, the place has a nice atmosphere, bright, clean and allowing you to get immersed in book hunting. I totally recommend it! :)
