Modern facilities look good, however functionality wise it may be insufficient for a large number of people

Excellent internet and book facilities. Beautiful, modern building. Only issue is the kids who make TOO much noise! Library is the quiet place whereas slough teenagers have made it a place to chat loudly, kid around and date! Its too annoying to fully concentrate. The management should take strict actions and set rules in the library. After word goes around of the consequences of excessive noise amongst the teenagers, they will eventually stick to being sensible in the library.

Old library was better, new one is like one big room. Kids, teens running around, staff talking outside their rooms, weddings taking place one side of library with music playing. Children groups playing music can be heard above on quiet area.

Ways they can improve:

Have a diary showing times when classes are running and best study times.

Allow students to use rooms for quiet study when not in use.

If possible later closing times. (if possible adults only)

More quiet zone signs as kids still go upstairs in groups just to walk around upstairs.

Water Fountain

Fix Internet, some genuine sites don't work and cut out.

Ability to close window blinds as light reflecting off laptop on one side of library obscure visibility.

Humming aircon next to toilets needs servicing.

That's all I can think of now but if any of these can be fixed that would be great.

amazing modern building. Library has 2 floors. 2nd floor is silent study area with individual studying spaces ideal when studying for exams or reading book. each study desk has a socket to connect your electronic devices to for charging. first floor is more for group discussions and also has a children corner.ground floor has a cafe, newspaper reading area and few conference rooms. the wifi is fast and always running. I enjoy using the library

A great library in a lovely new modern building. They aren't open late everyday so check the closing times before visiting. Nice staff, but they have been very eager to close on time so I have been rushed out on several occasions when going in nearer to the closing times.

This week I finally got around to getting a library card, because I want to read more and really believe in the power of libraries. The building itself is nice and modern, but it's a little disappointing. For starters, there are signs by the stairs telling you which services are on each floor, but when you get there no further signs pointing you where to go. The back door was shut (there is a sign from Slough High Street that leads you to this door). I walked around for a while on the 1st floor looking for the info desk so I could sign up, but couldn't find it. Downstairs was the reception which was able to help me sign up, but also told me that they had none of the digital language resources I was hoping for.

The space still has lots of areas closed for covid, and this is done in a rather sloppy way. Furniture was piled up like a zombie barricade and booths closed with propped up tables. A cone with a sign on it would have been much nicer. Another thing I felt was unprofessional was that at closing time, instead of a loudspeaker giving a closing warning, a librarian walked around telling people. You don't have a system for announcements?

Lastly, the opening times are disappointing. They work out okay for me because I work an odd hours part time job, but the library is closed to most adults who work a 9 to 5 job, because it shuts at 17:00. I know this is because of government cuts, but it seems short sighted. Libraries should be for everyone, not just for kids and the vulnerable.

The library is great and modern with incredibly helpful staff however I do miss the cosy feeling of the old library but guess that is just me.

Really good resource for the town. Would be better if it could be open later than 5pm.
