Wandsworth Town Library

Lovely place with a relaxing and calming atmosphere. We love coming and browsing around.

Convenient location but restricted internet and sufficient work tables make this library a bit less appealing.

Normally this is a great library but I don't think they are handling the transition out of lockdown very well. They announced they are open on one webpage, and on another page in small writing says they are only open for users to collect reserved books at the entrance. If you can't actually enter the Library, can you really say you are open? I wanted a book in the Crime section which I could actually see in the window at the entrance and it was explained to me there was a long list of reservations which they were working through and I would have to wait for them to tell me when the book was available. I could actually see the book on the shelf through the window just inside the doorway which was about 10 feet away with 2 or 3 staff at the door doing nothing but I could not check out that book. What is needed in this situation is CLARITY, not 'Library procedure'.

I went visiting the library and there were many children’s books available at the library. Open on a Saturday this made a change to the usual outing in shopping centres and outdoor places and it meant we got to spend time together reading.

Free access and available to all (members and non-members alike). Membership available to residents on Wandsworth borough.

We used the bus to get here- easily accessible as located near Wandsworth town hall and the Southfields shopping centre

Very helpful staff, comfortable facilities, children's section it's fantastic.

Nice place to read and relax

I think that libraries are one of the hallmarks of a civilised society. It one of the reasons why despots and fanatics tend to destroy them first during war...and governments do not fund them enough. Anyway. The quaint building lends to an unusual layout and ambience. Great place to read and learn for adults and children.
