Histon Library

Loudest library I think I've ever been in.

Staff were having a loud conversation when I arrived but that soon stopped. To be replaced with one staff member loudly banging books around; at one point right behind where I was sitting, trying to study. Two mums with their kids then came in, they were playing - that's fine, they're having fun. But they then started running around, shouting and being generally noisy. No one said anything. Not the mums, not the library staff.

I ended up leaving and sitting outside instead, where it was noticeably quieter, despite being right next to a main road.

I understand its a small community library but I have always been taught nothing louder than a whisper should be heard in any library, big or small.

Facilities are nice though.. lots of seating, few computers, nice clean place. Just a shame about the noise..

it was a weird experience uncle jim reccomened it to me and the start was ok i got macdonalds the dsy before and i was in a good mood the library was great....in the worst way it smelt like i lost my nan on a highway then found her ,wouldnt reccomend

Love the re-opened library, fresh and children-friendly decorations, friendly staff.

Great library, lovely staff, great kids section. They have lots of little events and are always helpful and kind.

Super friendly and helpful staff here today!
