One of my favourite places in London. An absolute must-see for feminists and allies. If you are into feminist history, it is a gem and you're guaranteed to love it.

I heard about The feminist Library on Twitter, and on a trip to London I decided to visit one evening.
It was a little hard to find. the building its in is a sort of community space, and you need to buzz to be let in.
Inside it felt like an old school building, and the feminist Library was tucked away o the first floor.
There was only a few people there, One lady running the office, and a few more having a meeting in the periodicals room.
The lady at the office was very nice and welcoming, she let me into the library space to browse. You enter two rooms filled to the brim with old books. Meticulously organized. Most of these books are quiet old, so you probably won't find many of the current array of feminist books. but it was definitely great to see the space and have a browse of books across such a broad range of topics, from health care to class struggles, poetry, and autobiographies.
You can't borrow books from the space, but they hold a book shop every Saturday.

The most wonderful place on earth. The volunteers are very helpful, and it is a vital resource for those who want to read rare feminist texts. They also have a brilliant periodicals section, and fiction if you just want to browse. Check their website for events, workshops, readings, which are normally open to all

The feminist library is a wonderful resource in terms of the collections it holds, and continues to acquire. It is also an inclusive, welcoming and active community that has a remarkable schedule of events, considering it is run by volunteers. It is a library that tries to spread the message of its collections as well as house and care for them and make them accessible.

Invaluable collection (the periodicals especially are amazing) in a friendly and welcoming space. Excellent events programme too. Do check opening hours before you visit though.

I am glad I made this trip to the library during my very short trip in London. The staff there are super helpful and nice! Glad that we have them archiving for feminism and the queers. Definitely worth visiting (and supporting them!) will come next time and spend more time here!

Entire collection of various women's moment magazines. Reading them feels like a transportation back in time.
