South Ockendon Library

I don't like it at all. I recently moved here and I visited it just once and there is no study room at all which I find completely useless since I'm a year 11 student who has her GCSE'S coming up and I need to revise. This is the only library that's near me and it doesn't have a study room. It's ridiculous.

This is one of the worst library's in essex. The people who 'work' here, always seem to be annoyed because you've asked them to help you with something and a - 'you can use the machine' response for everything. They also never. stop. talking. LOUDLY! Its not loose women ok? I used to enjoy the library but people like this ruin it for everyone. There's no way you can go here to study or read a book in peace, that's what library's are for remember?! There is never a shortage of screaming babies and kids either.

Visiting 1 /4/19 to return a book, yes it was overdue my fault . Only two days , realise this place is used as a hub . Two older ladies , sitting to my left behind a desk. Reason don't know nothing there to say , me thinking they know my books late. And handcuffs are coming out,as they didn't look or communicate .bless them sure they do a wonderfull job. Just let us know, anyway returned my over due book two days late, to counter. A lovely smiley blond lady, said that will be one pound . What for two days I say, no trial or judge jury . And I will not be slapped in handcuffs . Paid pound after short conversation with blond lady . Didn't find out who, old dears were .. BUT PLEASE GIVE THEM A JOB TITLE

I do volunteering every Monday and Wednesday and I love it the staff are fantastic 👌

The library is okay but they only take cash you can't be able to pay by card

Amazing how far we've come. Forgotten what a library is suppose to be. I guarantee you'll find more peace and quietness to study at the dervent parade than in here. Horrible! Always filled with loud laughter's and gossips.

Quite a nice place to make research

Warm, welcoming helpful, friendly staff. Always a pleasure going to the library and my little girl wants to go every week to see the library staff and pick her new books.
Definitely recommend.
