Pinner Library

Dear Sir/Madam,

Libraries usually justify their existence by claiming that are there for the use by the local residents.
Today I was refused to check out a book from Pinner library because I did not have my library card with me. I was told that under no circumstances could I check out a book without my library card.
The best that the staff could do was hold the book until I returned with my library card.
Now if something similar had happened at Northwood Hills Library (Hillingdon Borough), the staff there would have checked my name and address; asked a couple of security question to confirm my identity and allowed to check out the book. Saving me time and energy.
Now which library am I going to feel loyal to? Which one am I going to re-visit repeated. Where am I going to feel a valued visitor?
Would I be overly concerned if Harrow chooses to close down another library like the Bob Lawrence Library on Mollison Way, Edgware because a lack of users. If all Harrow Libraries have the policy like the Marsh Road branch in Pinner, then my answer would be no. I more likely to utilise and support Hillingdon libraries.

The staff are very friendly and the facilities are great. There are desktops and a laptop area upstairs and a nice children's section with classes for kids. Good opening hours and you can park on the road behind on Saturdays and Sundays unfortunately the adjacent car park is for the school.

Nice quiet little library and helpful staff. Helped set me up on the WiFi so I could finish a uni assignment, thank you.

Joined a few days ago to study and get some resources to improve my english, really good place, lovely staff and always helful with anything you need.

This library and its staff make me smile every time I go there. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the rhyme time is a delight. Specially Alice goes over and beyond to make it a wonderful experience for the little ones.

An awful thing happened to me. Here, not just once or twice, but multiple times; I haven't been back in over a year. The staff was not welcoming, and my children were disappointed because they wanted to go there to read. Even though I only have to walk 5 minutes to get to the library, whenever my children express an interest in visiting a library I always take them to Stanmore Library instead of Pinner Library. The patrons of the Stanmore Library were much friendlier than those of the Pinner Library. The reason I no longer visit the library is because the staff is extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. Their interactions with me made it seem as though they were acting in their own self-interest rather than in the interest of the library as a whole. The council ought to take action regarding the present state of employee benefits. It was frustrating to be so close to the library (only 5 minutes away) yet still feel uneasy about going there.

What a lovely library! We needed a book for study urgently, the man who located it for us couldnt have been more helpful. What a world it would be if everyone was as pleasant and courteous.

I had a brilliant experience today at this library. I spoke with Joshua who kindly explained how the library operated and all the additional resources offered by the library. Not only this, he helped me find a very specific book. Thank you to all the library staff.
