Many years ago this library had a fair selection of books and a great reference room I used when studying my GCSEs in the late 90s. My home was too noisy for study. Then one fine day it was modernised to accommodate fewer books, garish colour schemes and no actual place for solo study and research. I struggled to find anywhere to study during my A levels after these changes. I have no idea how young students cope with the noisy place this is now for any quiet and intense concentration.

I visited Eltham Library on Wednesday this week as it is half term and there was a FREE art event on for children aged 8-14. My Daughter attended and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent at the Library. She made some new friends, was able to relax, craft, draw and spend social time with other kids of her own age group. Staff were really friendly and helpful upon arrival. Care was taken to ensure I was contactable if needed. The kids designed an art muriel for the library wall. Which looked like lots of fun.
I haven't been to Eltham Library before so I was pleasantly surprised to see how neat and tidy the place was, it had a fresh vibe with lots of areas to read, sit, work and chill.
I also didn't know that the library was connected to the leisure complex too, so you can have a full day out with the kids, swimming and then some quality time to find a good book - win win for everyone!
I look forward to future visits. Thank you Eltham Library for a free day out... Happy Kids in half term!

I took my children to Eltham Library yesterday to join in with the art club.
My children had a great time.
They love art and it was such a lovely class for them to join in. Free too. It also meant I had 2 hours free time to go and do some shopping.
Thank you Eltham library. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

Thank you to the staff of Eltham Library for all their hard work in organising a range of activities and learning experiences for the local community.
Today my grand daughter participated in an art workshop for 8 to 14 year olds that was both educational and enjoyable . As I walked through the Library there were folk studying , reading , working on the computers and so much more .
It was so good to see all ages and interests being catered for !
Well done!

I would give less than 1 star, if possible, for the loud and disrespectful noise coming from children in other part of the room. This place needs improvement! Work on it!

"Library" but looks like a day care, what was supposed to be for reading, studying and having a quiet space, poor students and all that need a quiet place, maybe Mac Donald's can be quieter.

Singing and clapping loudly? Really?!

Today both my children attended a free art activity organised by Eltham Library, they had lots of fun creating arts during the 2 hour session.
Thanks for all the dedicated library team for a great event.

Quiet big space, so it easy to find a corner to use your laptop or read a book. I haven't deeply looked of what material they have, but from economic/financial options, there was not too many to choose from and quiet old stuff, but maybe I just haven't looked properly, so no judging on this part.

Mainly why I give 3 stars is staff members, constantly laughing or shouting at the glass room on the left once you enter the building. I have been to the library for the last 2 weeks almost every day and every time it's the same, they are so loud and unconciderable, which is very disappointing, as people that come to use library are always so quiet and respectful to others.

I'm all for happiness and giggles, but library has its own purpose, where people come to concentrate and get job done.
