Sidcup Library

Seems larger than I expected, much nicer than bexley's one. Shame they're not open everyday! Would also be nice if it was open for longer too. Not bad :)

Excellent library. Staff are so helpful. Very calm and peaceful.

I just registered today. Was very friendly and straightforward. I also was taught how to use the self service (for printing and other stuff)

Good daughter

I see older reviews refer to the facility on Hadlow Road. That building was shuttered in late 2022 - to let the council build some flats in its place, like it did earlier at Old Farm - and the library moved to a new home on the corner of High Street and Elm Road. I think unaccompanied grown-ups will see it as an upgrade - a new building, new furniture, high ceilings - but for parents, the change is clearly negative: the children's area is a shadow of its former self, a cramped corner with an IKEA sofa. Unfortunately, the library stopped being a place where you and your child could spend 30-60 mins. Borrowing books still works, I suppose.

A great library, especially for kids. A huge area for them to pick books and for us read together. The staff are friendly and helpful. The variety of resources on offer for adults is fantastic and it’s an important part of our high street.

I do not recommend this place at all. the staffs do not do anything about the noises.
They even contribute to it.
