I had an afternoon to kill in Chester so looked for the library so that I could get some work done.

I'd been to the Storyhouse and forgotten it was now the library as well as a venue and cinema and caf.

"What a nice place to get my work done", I thought. Except I forgot that every time I've been here in the past, was to see a show and have and drink. It's a really nice venue.

As a library, it's a bit of nightmare, I've got my noise cancelling headphones on with the radio playing at a decent volume and I can still hear the background music. I think I was more comfortable, could think and concentrate better in the Spoons round the corner.

I like the cakes and the pot of tea. It was lovely. But didn't like my trolley being seashed as we were going in the cafe. By the library. It made me feel very uncomfortable. Like a criminal. I have never been so embarrassed in my life I have never stole anything at all. Yours sincerely mrs p Morgan.

A place to go where you can learn a place to go to smile and feel happy.

A place to go for young and old, all generations of people will unfold.

Sharing their own beauty and intelligence from within, there’s so much to learn and so much to win.

If you want to feel love and feel grateful for life then just go along to sit and watch.

As people go about sharing conversations and love, just look at the writing on the walls up above.

Such poetry given to us to read and feel uplifted and know love is real.

All staff are friendly and will greet you with a smile, from security staff to kitchen and cafe staff , I find it hard to leave 😊 I want to stay for all time.

Thank you to all for allowing me to feel safe, included and happy in your place of beauty.

Kindest regards

Visited again, I'm afraid this time the food I received was not the usual standard ,the chicken was very fatty ,so only able to eat just over half of it,when asked by the waitress clearing our plates if everything was ok I mentioned the chicken, she said she would pass the comments on to the chef, that was the last I heard ,as you can see from previous visits I've always been very happy, hope this was just a one time hickup. I had the Lebanese chicken kebab in a bowl. Great food very tasty ,quick friendly service ,nice surroundings. Selection of high tables with bar stools and regular tables, another visit for a lunch time meal and not disappointed, the burger was excellent, yet another tasty meal

This is a great facility in the centre of Chester. It is part of the theatre/cinema complex, which includes a good cafe.
