Great library service. I use it alot. The whole catalog is on-line, so can renew & reserve books across Derbyshire to collect at their libraries. Chesterfield library has good selections anyway & very helpful staff.

April 2022, I reserved a book on-line, usually costing 80p per book, but on collection the kind librarian came out of her way to find me & refund me the cost, explaining the book was already on their shelves & not brought to Chesterfield from another branch. Therefore finding it, bringing it to me off their shelves would not incur any cost. Great place on three floors, with great children's section.

I visited the library today to request if information on an event in Chesterfield to benefit residents by offering employment support and the opportunity to meet employers, including some interviews to be held during the event, could be displayed in the library. I was quickly informed by the Helpdesk that no posters could be displayed and there was no facility to hold flyers. On exiting the library I passed a large rotunda display unit full of flyers. I wondered what prevented ours from being displayed in a similar way without any consideration of its contents. An Unhelpful Help Desk for sure.

Lovely public library with a great selection of books. There is also a children's library downstairs. I particularly enjoyed the bookable study pods, which are great if you need a quiet room to work in.

My two children (3 & 5) love Chesterfield Library. There is plenty of space to roam freely; the children's area is colourful, well set out & inviting; they can access all of the books easily and the staff are helpful and friendly, my kids even love the lift. They both especially enjoy Rhyme Time on Monday mornings. Great place.

We only went in the children's section, so my review is only based on that.
There is an excellent selection of books and the staff are all really nice and helpful. Really handy that you can return the books to any chesterfield library if you can't get back to town

Good library with a good selection of books for children, stories and reference books. It's a shame that the cafe has been closed since covid hit.

That was one of the first places I went after moving to Chesterfield. I have lots of happy memories from here, as I spent lots of time there with the children and on my own. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Not bad coffee shop downstairs. Good selection of books. Enough computers for quite a few people to use and quick, good quality printer.

Really helpful librarian - Jo Burroughs - went the extra mile to track down a book for me.
