Im aware there are many low star reviews. My review is honest and reflects my experience with SADC.
Everyone Ive dealt with at SADC (with the exception of contracted Waste services, which is another matter entirely ! ) has been very professional and courteous to me. The level of support offered for people in difficult circumstances is very good, even considering the huge number of people going through homelessness and other issues related to housing. They get a thumbs up from me and a thank you.

Question
Why do people seem to be dumping rubbish, known as fly tipping?
Its antisocial and makes the area untidy
Answer
Because the local council tips seem to operate on a system to benefit themselves with ludicrously restricted opening times
Why drive to your local tip to dispose and recycle items in a environmentally thoughtful way, only to find it closed, when you can chuck it on a convenient deserted country lane?

Appalling service from the
Council tax department. They witter on about data protection, but they do NOT protect your own information! My brother and I are the only executors of my late mother's estate and they wouldn't talk to me about her account that my partner and I pay. However, they were very willing to talk and discuss the payment details ( both paid and unpaid) to a non-executor that is not even mentioned in the will and had nothing to do with the account.

Awful website that doesn't work, links that go to the wrong place (e.g the link for visitors parking permit takes you to applying for a residents permit so you can't apply), and links that end in 'sorry there is something wrong, etc). Typical council, on your back like a shot when they want your money, but when you need something from them they really can't be bothered and make everything a hassle.

Been up to the tip this morning. It's all been cleared of snow and staff are friendly and helpful this cold Monday morning. Thank you 😊

Rubbish to the core. Every other week they keep missing to collect our bins, even though we have put it in front of our house just like our neighbours. They collect the bins of our neighbours but leave one or the other of ours. Have to call each time as if we have nothing else to do apart from keeping an eye on our bins. Shame, I wish we had more options when it comes to paying the council and choose what we pay depending on the quality of their service.

Council officers do well to respond to questions and queries despite a lack of resources and funding to support them. It is true that poor IT and a lack of a human voice harms customer service. This in turn raises the high numbers of rude and ill informed residents seeking redress. In contrast I find the business community educated, measured, positive and eager to work with local partners and stakholders to jointly improve the City along with the Council.
