This is a beautiful place to come and remember loved ones. Always clean and tidy. Plenty of parking spaces.
It has a pleasing calmness about it. With the odd squirrel+rabbit scurrying around.
I love the swaying trees as I remember my lovely mother in law with the slight Russel of leaves the place makes you feel at peace with life

Since we cremated my Dad the crematorium grounds have really gone down hill. Flowers are supposed to be removed weekly but when you visit now dead flowers lay anywhere with plastic rubbish blowing around not removed for more than 2 weeks. Where the plaques are for cremated family like my dad, theres old glue from old plaques that have been removed, bits of rubbish stuck to the concrete plynths they look really negleced there is nowhere to put flowers for these areas so people have to lay flowers around the plaques which blow around in the wind, why cant some concrete planters be placed at the back of all the plynths for setting flowers in? Plynths are never swept or cleaned and look really grubby.
When my Dads ashs was scattered we was told that soil would be placed over the top. This is never the case and ashes are left to the wind to blow around as the ashes are just dumped anywhere within borders and around trees without being covered, then family come to visit passed relatives and have to walk over where others have been placed willy nilly carrying ash back to the car and home, gross.
Everytime my mum comes to see where my Dad is, she becomes very distress because she cant avoid walking over someones ashes to get to where my Dad is placed by a tree, and seeing the state the plaques are in, the fee after the initial payment for the plaque is for maintaining the grounds but this has certainly gone down hill, no doubt this will also be blamed on covid. But as there was only small groups going up over covid you would have thought that the grounds would be in pristine condition. The words dead and buried certainly no longer apply here, if your cremated your family may as well save money and toss you in the wind.

We held my Dad's Zen funeral here in the Newstead Chapel. The space is beautiful and the staff very helpful.

Nice grounds but the crematorium building is outdated and needs a new revamp. There is benches around the cemetery and lots of shady areas to gather your thoughts!

If i could give zero stars i would. I travelled an hour as i do every new years day to view the book of rememberance for my loving, beautiful mum who died on new years day, to be greeted by a locked door, both to the book of rememberance and to the water tap and toilet. I had nowhere to put my bouquet of flowers, except if i took out someone else's flowers, which is so wrong. Is it such an inconvenience for a person to unlock 2 doors and turn 3 pages whilst unlocking the main gates? Or is it just plain idleness??What has the world turned into. I hope nobody else dies on new years day or a bank holiday!!!

Appalling, My wife has come here for the last 25 years on January 1st every year, the Anniversary of her Mother's death to view the book of remembrance and leave flowers only to find it locked up with no access and a new sign stating closed on Bank Holidays. To lock the doors and refuse access is disgusting and very upsetting and shows zero respect for anyone who has lost a loved one on new years day or a bank holiday, entries to this book are paid for and to refuse access on a bank holiday is not acceptable, my wife's mother didn't choose to die on a bank holiday, why should she be penalised because of this, to place a sign in the grounds that access is available online is not acceptable, not everybody can afford or has Internet access, and free services like the library are closed on bank holiday.

I find the atmosphere here a lot nicer than the old traditional church you can still have a vicar come and speak on your behalf and take charge of the ceremony all so you can have members of your family stand up and speak about their loved ones
