Really had some nice family time in a lovely place. Excellent facilities for us all love to go back

We arrived at the coldest weekend of the year and the heating was not working, we were given 2 electrical radiators that were nowhere good enough to heat up the entire place. Bedrooms and bathrooms were freezing cold. We had to sit indoors with our thick coats the entire time. Promises were made that the problem was being fixed the next day, then the next but this did not happen. We ended up having to move lodges on the Monday when other people had checked out and another was made available. We did not think the owner was helpful or did enough to make our stay comfortable.

After waiting for a year as a group of three couples we had our second visit to Crest Country Retreats. There are sufficient toiletries for a day or two. Book direct through Facebook for the best prices. The lodges are set in a good position with country side views and “away from it all” if that’s what you want. Swings and slides for younger children and good-sized hot tubs for 6 adults. Public transport is available to Oswestry but expensive, over £6 each return. There are plenty of good walks for a couple of hours, we went north to Sandford Hall. There is pub in the village or Knockin “Bradford Arms” or even closer in the next village of Kinnerley. The Cross Keys is a very friendly well stocked pub serving really nice Sunday roasts. I have also provided a review for The Cross Keys.

Would give it 5 except for a few trivial things. Accomodation finished to a very high standard just a few things like bedroom lamps dusty and taps not polished off. Etc.

Underfloor heating not working. How was this not checked before we arrived.
