Matthew repaired the stonework and repointed the chimney stack on our 145 year old house. In addition to being happy with the quality of the finished job, I was impressed with the way he carried out the whole of the work from the initial visit to view the job, preparation of the quote and all the way through to him completing the work. He explained in simple terms what needed to be done prior to sending his formal quote and even before starting the work he made sure I knew what he was going to do and how long it would take. He and the team worked in a safe and professional manner at all times. The scoffolding company he employed were also very professional and courteous.

We are very happy with the finished job and would have no hesitation in using MJ Contracts again or recommending them to friends or neighbours. Everyone we met at our job were very polite, worked safely and clearly had pride in what they were doing.

I have no hesitation in recommending this Builder. I contacted Matthew about a year ago to fix a problem I had with water ingress for years. Matthew turned up at his suggested time and within a week the problem was fixed. I, and now all my neighbours, use Matthew to sort out any further issues we have with our properties. MJ Contracts have just completed their second job at my property. On both occasions Matthew and his team have been professional and easy to deal with, providing a detailed description of the work required, keeping in touch regarding timeframes and sticking to agreed quotes. Most recent job required scaffolding - the sub-contractors were also professional and polite. Covid 19 messed with scheduling for this latest job but Matthew ensured the job was safe, secure and watertight during the lockdown. On both occasions the guys have done a good job clearing up on completion, even helping to take some debris which I was struggling to get down from the loft which wasn't directly related to their job.

Really good service - highly recommend. Responded very quickly to my initial request, and carried out a much-needed repair in record time. Very good at explaining the work that needed to be done, and keeping in touch by phone and text. Will definitely use again.

Matthew was very professional, turned up on time and managed to fit in an extra bit of work needing done on the roof. He was also prompt at responding to messages. No complaints with the work done to my property.

This is our second job done by Matthew and Gary and cannot recommend them highly enough! They come out when they say they will come out and their work is professional and tidy.
