I booked a groupon massage for sat 11th November. On the Tuesday before, I called and this chinese gentleman who spoke very little English took my reservation. I repeated myself about 5 times and he confirmed Sat 11th Nov at 12pm. It was my Wifes 20 year anniversary and wanted this to be special. She arrived on Saturday and there was no booking for her. I was livid when I found out and called and spoke to the same gentleman. Had he been sympathetic I would have accepted this. No apology just 'not in my diary' I will never book again with this place. I will be calling Groupon for a full refund and suggest they take this site off their list. Maybe someone who has very little English should not take bookings. :{{ :{{

Arrived at 11:22am for an 11:30am appointment only to find it closed. Called the mobile number on the door, told someone would be there in 10 minutes. After waiting almost 20 minutes I called the mobile number again and it was switched off as was the other number listed. So a waste of a journey and no contact from the company. Have sent a refund request to Wowcher, absolute joke!

I have recently gone to see Dr Chen again regarding sciatica. After putting up with over 8 months of discomfort - not being able to drive home to Wales from London, without stopping 3 or 4 times; not being able to sit at the desk or in front of the TV for more than an hour - after one session with Dr Chen, the change is remarkable.
Lack of organisation let me allow it to go on for so long, yet always at the back of my head was a voice saying: Go and see Dr Chen!
Anyway, I am seeing him again in two days' time and have every confidence that I will be back to normal without the hassle of ringing 37 times to see a GP and wait another few months to see a physio, who probably wouldn't be as effective.
It's sad to say this about the NHS, because I absolutely believe in the principle and most people who have physical or mental problems can't afford to see someone privately. I struggle too. The NHS needs proper funding and an overhaul, unless it is just there to treat emergency cases.
But, if you are looking for an endorsement of someone who has helped another over many years, where the NHS has failed, then I wholeheartedly endorse Dr Chen.
Unfortunately, he will be probably leaving soon. So see him while you can.
There have been one or two negative comments left by a few individuals and whilst no doubt their individual experiences might not have been good, they seem to me to be related to voucher schemes, miscommunication and language barriers, rather than clinical outcomes.
If I was giving a present to someone, I certainly wouldn't give them a voucher to see Dr Chen. He's not that kind of practitioner. If someone bought me a voucher for a birthday/anniversary present, I'd want to go skydiving, not see a man in a small clinic who is about relieving pain, building a relationship and getting to know your body. Instead, I would recommend him and insist they go and see him and would give them the money if I had it - which, by the way, is very reasonable when compared to many other clinics.

I have been seeing Dr Chen on and off for years now. He has treated many things, not least a severed anterior cruciate ligament. The NHS told me I had a deep bone bruise despite an MRI scan showing the ligament had completely snapped (they later apologised). Without Dr Chen I would not have been able to walk and regain mobility without his treatment. The NHS, a year and half later, offered to reconstruct the ligament using my hamstring. The rehabilitation I received from Dr Chen was so successful that I decided to do without the ligament, my trust in the original consultants and physics being exactly zero.
It's such a shame that the NHS doesn't invest in clinicians such as Dr Chen. It would keep a lot of people out of hospital and also help patients with chronic conditions which the NHS is not very good at dealing with.
