Absolute shambles and if you value your life, go to a different surgery.

My father had a severe UTI and he was given the incorrect antibiotics. Eight days later after no improvement and days of agony and no sleep, he made another call to the doctors who later advised that the antibiotics he’d been given were not strong enough. He had two options. Take new stronger antibiotics or fast tracked to Intensive Care for intravenous drugs and an overnight stay!

Seriously, the lack of communication between staff and then patients is non existent. No one seems to know what anyone else is doing. Dad’s new prescription was supposed to be in the pharmacy next door but wasn’t there which caused yet more confusion.

A formal complaint is being made to the surgery manager, NHS and the GMC.

Have had an ongoing injury and have been trying to get help from the practice. Wait times for calls are ridiculous, when you eventually get through, half the time the receptionist is rude and seems as if they cant wait to get rid of you. they never provide a solution to any problems. I've had prescriptions go missing, been given the wrong one, or just straight up ignored my request. it been so hopeless that i've been forced to go private and spend thousands of pounds. wouldnt recommend.

1 star is flattering. I had an appointment with Dr Ravindra. I didn’t feel listened to at all and I feel he had made his mind up about what was wrong with me rather than listening to what I was experiencing. I felt uncomfortable and at times he was very rude.

The only good Doctor I’ve ever come across here is Dr Horsley

Had a great experience, phoned at 8:05 as an emergency got an appointment for 9:15 from the really helpful receptionist for that same day, saw the GP, Dr Lopes who was really attentive and was delightful throughout the appointment. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

First class service. As a person who has white coat syndrome I am not keen on going to drs. I recently had a blood test, in the space of less than 24hrs I had a call from the Dr explaing the problem. After 3 days I had an appt booked for clinic and after 4 days an appt for CT scan next week. I could not get better treatment going private. The staff have been helpful and kind. Very impressed.

I have been a patient at this practice for three years and have always been impressed by it’s efficiency, thoroughness and overall care. My family and I have attended in person when necessary but have also had telephone appointments and used the photo sending service when appropriate and I think Bower Mount use these varying methods of assessment and diagnosis very well.

I’ve had a fairly positive experience with Bower Mount. The doctors are professional, empathetic and patient. A lot of the front staff are also similarly empathetic and professional. I did have a very sad experience of one admin person getting frustrated with me as I was trying to explain (with my crying baby) that I needed to speak to a particularly doctor. She eventually dropped the line on me as I was speaking. It was very sad and shocking.

Lot of people complaining about the surgery but I actually think it's been better since Covid. I mean, who comes onto Google Review with the intention of leaving a positive one?

Before, as with almost every surgery (wife & kids at a different one) it was impossible to get an appointment with needing to call up on the day, wait in a phone queue for an hour before being told all of them had gone.

Now, you complete an online form and get a call back if not on the same day, then the following. If they think an in-person appointment is best, they'll sort that out asap - my son had a worrying rash on his leg and had an appointment within 2 hours.

The form isn't perfect, and I haven't bothered with calling for years. Some will prefer talking to someone direct, while others just want an in-person appointment all the time. If you can get used to an online form though, a lot of the admin problems will be avoided.

Bottom line - considering every doctor in the country is oversubscribed, getting a call back on the same day with a caring doctor/nurse service leaves little to be improved on.
