So I went to the doctor after suffering with terrible insomnia, I had gone 6 days without any sleep. I was also suffering from minor anxiety problems at the time and was prescribed for each of these issues. I received a prescription which was WAY over what was needed. I had received 50mg of Sertraline and also regular Propranolol for the problems which I was experiencing.
After about 5 days on the medication, I was able to sleep however, I was way too unfocused on the work which needed completing and college and I became extremely paranoid with my surroundings, believing that I made lights flicker or TV screens glitch. Basically I had a bunch of side affects which outweighed the primary problem resulting in me basically having a meltdown.
Dr Hickson was responsible for the diagnosis and so I urge you to look for a second opinion if you are suffering from the same symptoms as me or a similar issue. I'm not saying that I was prescribed incorrectly or that Dr Hickson is a terrible doctor as such, however, I do believe I was given a stronger dose than what was needed and as a result me and my family suffered for quite a prolonged period of time.
I also signed on for Therapy for my OCD and Anxiety and received satisfactory treatment for that, so although the physical illness wasn't dealt with ideally, the treatment for mental illness was suitable.

TL;DR: Got prescribed over the dose and side effects were worse than the illness in the first place, basically thought I was a Jedi because of the drugs which were prescribed.

Receptionists so far have been nice and co-operative.
But i am absolutely appalled at the treatment my partner has had from the doctors. We have spoken to almost every doctor in the surgery in regards to his chronic, progressing pain condition and they keep prescribing him anti-depressants apart from one doctor that actually prescribed a painkiller for him. We went to see a private doctor to which he sent a prescription through for a muscle relaxant for him to take. He has been waiting patiently for days whilst still suffering in agony, to only find that they sent the wrong prescription medication through. I have had to call up yet again to request that the right prescription goes through for him to which he has to wait longer, suffering because the doctor didn't take the time to look at the private doctors note correctly. If it wasn’t for me making his appointments for him constantly to get the help he needs god knows what he would be like now! He has been seeing the doctors at this surgery for years now and has received the bare minimum of treatment and respect. I will be transferring him to another doctors surgery soon as i fear his health will keep deteriorating and nothing will be done about it.

the reception staff are rude, hostile and unhelpful and the doctors are even worse. tried to complain to the practice manager but she doesn’t do her job either. 0/5 wouldn’t recommend

My daughter was having seizures, starting at the age of 18. The doctors kept putting it down to her age and hormones and didn't send her for a scan. Two years later after fighting for someone to listen we found out she had a brain tumour

Like any other GP practices, it's difficult to get an appointment. However the Doctors are absolutely wonderful and so helpful. Never had a problem with them or the Receptionist.

Avoid going Bedworth Health Centre, I have been going there for 20 years and every single interaction has been poor, I am now going to switch to somewhere else. The staff treat you poorly and are extremely rude for no reason and the doctors do not listen to a word you say, I can't believe this place is legally allowed to function that's how terrible they are.

I've just spoken to a lovely receptionist. I lost signal and the lady rang me straight back. I didn't get her name unfortunately.
But thank you

Moved to this doctors at the end of last year after moving to the area. So much better than my old doctors, receptionists always lovely and willing to help, have gone above and beyond as well. Doctor Marston is a pleasure to have an appointment with, she really takes the time and is very sympathetic and professional.
