I've always had great care at this surgery. Most of the time I am able to see the same GP that I've had for years, Dr Peck. Over the last 7 years, I've found her to be an experienced and empathetic doctor who never makes you feel rushed during consultations. The few times I have seen other GPs, they have also been excellent. The clinics do tend to run behind but this is the case at most surgeries and is the result of the doctors giving an appropriate amount of time to each patient. Never had any issues with the reception staff. In my experience, they are polite and very efficient. Would definitely recommend.

Myself, my husband and now my son been visiting the practice over the past 5 years and they have always been excellent and responsive. We have seen several different Drs over the years and all bar one have been great. They will always try and get you a same day appointment particularly with a baby when considered more urgent and I find the Drs sympathetic and informative. We are now leaving the area and hope our future Drs Surgery will be as helpful as Valley Road.

I have been a patient at Valley Road Surgery for 4+ years and my experience there has mostly been atrocious. While the doctors are professional the most part, the main issue is the reception team who, every time I have called to book an appointment or ask for information, has always been antagonistic, unpleasant to speak to and, above all, snappy and unprofessional.

No one should be allowed to speak to another in an arrogant and unprofessional way when dealing with patients directly. I am truly disappointed and shocked that such behaviours and attitudes are allowed to exist. There are thousands of unemployed people who could provide a much better service and provide the genuine human touch that such a job requires.

While I understand the stress and effort everyone is going through due to the pandemic and all new regulations, it is not acceptable that the reception team for a surgery is so unpleasant to deal with.

Weeks ago, I booked a phone appointment with the doctor which was scheduled for 2 weeks after I booked it. The booking time was 10:30 and I only received a call at 11:10 which I annoyingly and unfortunately missed. I called the surgery at 11:13 saying I had accidentally missed the call from the doctor and the answers I received were snappy and rude, almost as if I were speaking to a robot. When I explained to the receptionist that I too had been waiting for 40 minutes for the doctor to call me despite him being late for the call, she told me that she felt I was "telling her off" when my tone and words were friendly and only trying to explain the situation. At no point was I unpleasant or rude to her, so when I heard that sentence I told her that my experience at the surgery has always been antagonistic and unpleasant because of her and her colleagues.

I will be leaving Valley Road Surgery in a matter of weeks as I have no more intention of dealing with such an unpleasant team.

I would sadly and strongly NOT recommend this surgery to anyone.

Staff are helpful and polite whenever I call I have had 1 gp however who came accross rude but overall I've had a good experience. If I have a telephone appointment I get a call back. Francesca who is the pharmacist has been so helpful and has taken time to listen to me and provide prescriptions in a speedy manner. No matter my query or how busy she is shes always takes good care and tries to help me if shes unable to help she finds out who can assist. Thank you!

This is the best surgery I have ever been with. All of the staff - receptionists, nurses and doctors - are polite, friendly, caring and most importantly knowledgeable. I have never had a problem booking appointments, receiving treatment or getting referrals, even during the pandemic.Thank you, Valley Road Surgery :)

I am always very impressed by the reception staff whenever I call. They are helpful, polite and kind. The nurse Deirdre is fantastic and all the doctors I’ve interacted with have been great. Would definitely recommend this surgery and have already done so!

I have been a patient for many years but I am now thinking of moving to another surgery. Every time I call reception, they are rude, I.e. raise their voice and treat customers like idiots. On the doctor's front, the only positive experience has been with Dr Agbaje. All the others I have seen in the last 14 years, were very apathetic and disinterested.
