I really wouldn't recommend going to this surgery.
I have had multiple issues that I need medication for that I have had for a while, these doctors without consulting or informing me just take me off them, leaving me mentally and physically worse off when I finally got more than one other doctor external to this practice to tell them I need to be on this medication they then stated saying that I don't need to be on that amount of it and started to try and reduce the amount. They only seem to be concerned about not having patients not being on medication.
The receptionist think they have a medical degree themselves and they they know more about your symptoms than you do.
They are incredibly rude and both the receptionist and the doctors make going their a very unpleasant experience.
The waiting times are ridiculous you call up and say you want to talk to a doctor they say it is more than a week before there is a free appointment, in my case I was explaining I was having chest pains, they said there isn't anything they can do, that is the waiting time.

Appointments with the doctor feel incredibly rushed which is somewhat understandable as I'm sure they are very busy, however, the main issue is the receptionist staff. My experience with them has been almost entirely negative, very unhelpful and absolutely appalling attitude. If you're going to work in a customer facing role all day, have some basic manners and people skills. Many of the people calling will be unwell and perhaps anxious, they shouldn't have to deal with such horrendous customer service. Shocking frankly.

Just been there on lunch hour. They're closed for their lunch. So i have to go back after work. On the adjacent, different surgery, reception, I had to wait for approx 60 seconds while 2 of the staff chatted about how he was thinking of selling his house. So sorry I interrupted you.

I joined this surgery about three months ago. I was hesitant to change, after 56 years with my previous GP but so glad I did in the end.
I have read some of the not so positive reviews but negativity has not been my experience at all.
I have been given my prescriptions on time, every time. If I want a doctor's appointment, yes there is a wait but you have to wait, in every surgery. That's just how it is nowadays.
The reception staff are not very friendly agreed but I wouldn't describe them as rude. They have always been helpful to me. These ladies have very stressful jobs and probably not much time for pleasantries.
In my experience, this surgery doesn't deserve to have such a poor review score.

The receptionist is always really rude and determines whether you can see the doctor or not depending on how sick you are? I was made to feel like I was wasting the doctors time, even though I was really, really unwell. And that's all after waiting 30 minutes+ on the phone everytime. Where is the empathy and compassion for people these days?

Both Butetown and Grangetown surgeries need to learn to communicate better, getting told all different things by both surgeries! I was told to collect my prescription at 1:30pm however Butetown surgery closes at 1pm and that's the one I'm registered to, it's taken me 4 days to find this out as Google don't have their opening and closing times! i never know which branch i got through to on phone. I have a chest infection and I've been trying to pick up my antibiotics for 4 days now! It's a joke. And reception are rude and need customer service training. And all that just tops off the fact that it took me over 5 months to get registered with them as I have no photo i.d, bare in mind I'm 29 YO lived in Cardiff my whole life born and bred in Butetown lived all over Cardiff have never had a problem getting registered with gps untill I came back to Butetown and tried registering with Cardiff bay surgery. Honestly dealing with the surgeries has affected my mental health.

I have had the misfortune of experiencing such bad manners and no response from the staff at this surgery, I have been trying to make an appointment for over a month My daughter age 3 is very ill and all they say is that they have no appointments

Went to pick up my prescription only to be told it had been ‘lost’ so now have to go without. Actually appalling.
