Poor food, needs improving.

The general service from our waitress was okay, and we're REALLY not fussy eaters, but the food was terrible.

The chicken was greasy, so sweet and tasted like it had been microwaved from frozen. The rice was VERY inedible, tasting of so so much oregano. The enchilada was so greasy on the outside and completely dry on the inside, like it had been reheated once already. It came with an absolute mountain of fries that were ropey and completely dominated the plate. We're always people to finish our plates clean, but we barely touched them...

We were asked how our food was, and we said it was okay at the time - simply because we wanted to give it a good go and they seemed swept off their feet.

We did give feedback at the end, but it didn't feel listened to or taken professionally.

Overall, wasn't a great experience and won't be going back again.

Currently writing this review between rounds of throwing up with food poisoning after eating about 5 hours ago. Food was generally fine as well as service, 2 in our party are ill at the moment and the only thing we shared was the Mac and cheese side. Maybe it's reheated or something, I would be keen to know. Can't warrant going again after this as I'm never ill and can't remember the last last time this happened.

In response to the owners comments it doesn't take a doctor to know if you have food poisoning. I've been up all night throwing up to the bile in my stomach while also coming out the other end. This morning I'm feeling pretty exhausted but the worst of it is over luckily. Your response should be taking this seriously, checking what we had to eat, checking your dates on the ingredients etc as luckily I'm an I'm shape dude that can handle it but some old lady would probably keel over. You haven't responded whether food is cooked in advance and left out or microwaved? Can you confirm or deny that? Either way you can take it further if you really want. I have horrific videos of myself chucking up etc since you said that silly response so plenty of stuff to back up what we have said.

Can’t rate highly enough! We had a party of 30 people for my daughter’s 18th. They were well organised, decorated and made the birthday girl feel special. We booked meals in advance and everything ran like a dream (despite adding a few extra guests last minute!). I would happily recommend it to anyone! It’s Mexican come American style style food - loads of choice for all dietary requirements and huge portions! The staff were helpful and attentive throughout. Thanks for a great night Mambo Jambos!

Food was lovely! Staff where super kind and understanding however we waited 2 hours for our starters and an extra 30 minutes for our mains. All the staff are lovely and great but they just need a few more to fill in the gaps and speed up service!

Ahhhh.... It's good to be back... Been here so many times (almost every after week) that was 10 years ago... Looks the same place but in a good way, homey feel... The staff are doing their best despite the obvious of short staff (long service time) still good service all together...

Exemplary at every level, we were a party of 40 for a works Xmas party. Meals were ordered in advance and Nat, Carly, Laura and the team were so organised and professional it was smooth sailing all-the way. The food came out piping hot and was delicious. Portions are generous and dietary requirements are well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble for these ladies and they were helpful and smiling all night. Thank you so much Mambo Jambo for a brilliant night. We will recommend you to everyone

Went on a date with my boyfriend, he'd been 2 weeks previous with friends and said it was lovely so decided to take me, but quite frankly they let him down! Our main took 2 hours to arrive from when we got there. My burger was quite bland and nothing special but my boyfriends meal was nice. The only real positive was the tasty drinks! I would recommend the Blue Shark cocktail.

3.5/5 - generous portions of great tasting American/Mexican food, but the vibe felt a little off due to the staff being frustrated and exhausted during a lunchtime rush.

The front of house worked as hard as they could, but for two people, it was clear from a customers point of view that it was a lot of work for them (we could hear them vent their frustrations and it just made us feel awful for them).

If this food was paired with enough staff working the front of house, you’d be onto a winner of a place! Perhaps this was just an off day?

Also this restaurant was situated above the lane, and I did not see an accessible lift for anyone who is unable to use stairs. We had a vegan burger which was a spicy bean patty that my partner thoroughly enjoyed.
