I was visiting Portsmouth and went to pray here but the whole place was locked - coming from London it’s strange to see a mosque that is not open during the day for people to pray. Appears that this is only opened during prayer times and not throughout the day. The building looks quite large but unfortunately I was unable to pray here due to it being locked.

One of the most beautiful mosques in Portsmouth. The mosque environment is well and all of the committee members are fantastic and friendly. Women are allowed to pray in the mosque and that is separated❤🕋

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRAVELLERS
A good mosque. But around this time, the mosque only open 30mins before Jamaat prayer, until 20 mins after Jamaat prayer for each prayer time. This makes it hard for travellers to pray, as traveller do not have any place to pray, except in worst case shopping malls fitting room.
At one time, I have to pray just outside the church next door behind the bushes, next to the street. I suggest the mosque committee to provide a small room or Musolla just for travellers. That would be much appreciated.
For info, you can reach this place from Hard Interchange using First Bus number 2.

Large mosque with great atmosphere, juma'a prayer has two khutbas, one 30 minutes before in a different language, and another in arabic at juma'a time.
