Spender's Motorcycles

Went to this garage to fit a new tube and tyre. Unfortunately he mechanic heavily scratched my rim. My fault I didn’t inspect the wheel before left the garage. I know it is the stiff tyre and mistake can happen but they should tell me about it and might be repair? I believe that it is a garage with good and experienced mechanics but in my case not fully professional.

The team here, Paul, Richard {he's been servicing my bikes for over 30 years and I wouldn't let anyone else touch them) and led by the fantastic Nathan, are the best service company you'd ever hope to deal with. I have been using Spenders for the past 15 years, from full engine rebuilds, to buying used bikes. Nathan and the team have always gone above & beyond to help me. They just fitted two tyres to my GSA 1250 at short notice, whilst I waited and I couldn't be happier. Always polite and great communication. They've got a customer for life.

Took a 2.5 hour round trip to look at a bike (and they knew I'd come from afar), took it for a test ride, made an offer which I was told was "reasonable and not too far off but I need to talk to the owner and call you back". Didn't seem to want to ring while I was there so anyone would assume they'd hold the bike until any negotiation was complete. Rang up just after I got home and it'd been sold to someone else and that "I wouldn't have discounted the bike anyway". Absolute waste of time and petrol and really unkind business practices.

EDIT: Thanks for your reply. Obviously I was frustrated at the time as all it would have taken was a call to say "the owner didn't accept your offer and I have someone willing to pay asking price, but as you made the trip this morning wanted to give you first refusal". But I appreciate that the bike was always going to get a lot of interest. Have updated my star rating.
