Company Moves & Storage

I booked this company at short notice in May 2019 as our moving company had let us down. Initially, the company was courteous, professional and quick at getting removals organised.

On the day of the move the removals team arrived, and everything was on track. The size of the job hadn't been scoped correctly, but eventually another lorry arrived for the move.

When unloading at the new property I heard screeching, I look down the side of the house and a removal man (not originally part of the job) is dragging and scratching my twin American fridge against the brick wall of the house. I immediately stop him, and he comments "he didn't really have time to remove the doors". The fridge is ruined.

I am assured by the removals team that the damage had been noted and would be sorted. I chase the office first thing on Monday, promised a call back which didn't happen. I chase repeatedly, send emails and they are ignored.

TWELVE MONTHS later I am finally given the details of the insurance company who conclude my £1000 fridge is worth £250, and worse still, had to be paid by the removal company directly as it's under their excess.

In June 2020 (nearly 18 months later) I am still waiting for my refund.

I finally receive my refund of £250 in November 2020. Not a service I would recommend. The director, Ted, is unaware and uninterested in the problems reported.

Great service received from Dave, Tom and Jordan on 20 May moving our surplus family furniture to various locations. Well up to the job, and nothing too much trouble.Thanks Guys!

Would definitely recommend. The team led by Dave and supported by Reiss and Jordan did an excellent job unloading our container and putting the furniture back together. Very professional and a pleasure to deal with.

A very professional ,fast service.
The fact that they actually do a home visit to survey the move beforehand gave peace of mind.
The crew on the day of the move were knowlegable ,fast ,polite and organised.

Six guys who were so polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they loaded three vans quickly and in such an organised way. Everything wrapped and packed beautifully They even moved my summerhouse and duck house.

I would definitely recommend if you have awkward or unusual items.

Just moved house with these guys... and I have to say from start to finish I couldn't fault them! Really lovely guys, very efficient, friendly and professional! The least stressful house move I have had and all down to their professionalism and helpfulness! Would happily recommend them to anyone!

A WARNING!

We recently had "Company Moves" over to our house for removal quoting purposes.
Kevin attended, seemed a nice enough person, gift of the gab as any good salesman should have.
However, we had an issue with the quote : Ours is 2 storey, 4 bedroom house, with a 3 person occupancy, moving literally 5 minutes away from our current location to a 3 storey, 4 bedroom house.
What Kevin didn't realise, at the time, is our friends recently used "Company Moves" to also move within the same area as us, literally 5 minutes from where their previous house was (like us) This time from a 3 storey, 5 bedroom house, with a 6 person occupancy to a 3 storey 4 bedroom house. They effectively have 2 - 3 times the amount of household items than we do, beds, etc.
Our quote, for less items, from a smaller house, was £175 more than our friends quote. It might be me, but I would have thought, taking into account the larger occupancy = more transportable items, surely the quote should be at least £175 in our favour?
We questioned this with Kevin who claims that the house our friends moved too doesn't have 3 storeys (it does, a loft conversion, we do communicate with each other!)
They also moved from a 3 storey house, unlike us.(2 storey) I questioned Kevin on this, to which he replied (very disgruntled, like I was inconveniencing him) that more men would be required and that he would:
"go and get the file."
I replied that this he should have done before feeding me false information with regard to our friends quote. His sarcastic response :
" Whatever you say".
Furiously I made it clear what I would like him to do with the quote and hung up.
I think he needs to remember, its us, the customers, that put food on their table at the end of the day. Rudeness, sarcasm and disinformation are not good quality's in which a company should operate. I hope it was just Kevin letting the side down.
Apologies for this being lengthy, but I have put this here as a warning, use your due diligence before signing the dotted line.(Which we haven't,luckily!!)

Quick update : We have had another quote from a reputable firm based in Fleet(9.9 on Checkatrade. 442 reviews) £1065 less than the Company Moves quote......
