An absolute gem! This is a must see if you're in Rossendale, never mind Bacup. An amazing tardis of a museum who's collections defy the apparent size of this former public house. Housing some amazing artefacts not just from around Lancashire but across the world, this is a stunning goldmine of history. Incredibly friendly volunteers who are not only very welcoming but offer some passionate insight into the history of the area, the people and the artefacts they care for.
And it's free!
This museum is a must see.

I went to find some family history for a friend who wanted to find out about her grandad who was killed in an accident in the 1930s. The lady who helped me was amazing ... She showed me old news papers and trawled through historic records for me and found full and detailed information to pass to my friend, who now has enough info to visit her grandad's grave and have a look at where he used to live ❤️
