Excellent
There is a stear lift to those whom can't go up on the stears. Fantastic displays! The entrance fee was £3.75. Carers goes free!

A fascinating collection of historical artifacts, from the deeply personal to the once widely owned. It was also quite amazing just how many wars/campaigns/battles these soldiers have been involved in - they have quite a history of being, surprisingly frequently successfully, skillfully violent. There's a lot, really quite a lot for a smallish museum on two floors, of text to read. It's usually well written, though, and often clearly explains complex situations that shaped history. I've tasted this five stars, but I should say this is five stars for a small city's military museum. But I was totally fascinated!

Very interesting museum on two floors, with a stair lift. Lots of history to see. But the best bit is the display of the battle of Waterloo. Huge display case bigger than my living room with thousands of little figurines. The battle is explained with lighting and narration and is done very well.

This is first class museum. Even if you don’t have a passion for the rifles it’s still excellent. Games for kids, interactive exhibits, fantastic audio visual work and models. So many items from uniforms and swords to rifles and militaria. Spanning over 2 centuries. Well laid out and nice staff. Was free the day we went but usually cheap anyway.

Fantastic museum with many great exhibitions that were entertaining for us and the children, they especially liked getting hands on with old rifles and seeing models of historical events. The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend visiting!
