Easily the best 5 quid spent ever! Lovely place, well curated garden, but what made it was the volunteer guide Pat, who knew so many interesting facts and was happy to answer any questions. Would recommend to anyone!

Quaint and interesting house and gardens are charming and beautifully labelled. Staff very helpful and friendly. However, I suspect for most people it won't occupy them for more than an hour or so and whilst the free return visit for 12 months is a nice touch it is one that I'm guessing most people won't use which makes the £5.95 entrance fee seem a tad pricey.

Wonderful and interesting place well worth a visit. Lovely garden with plants as in the 1620s and signs for every thing telling you about history and use. House well laid out with a wealth of information in every room. Free guided tour. Nice cafe with lovely homemade cakes. Volunteers and staff absolutely lovely and very welcoming. A little gem!

Best day out. Lovely gardens and coffee shop. Tour of house with Virginia was informative, interesting and full of laughs. £5.95 fir a year's pass is such good value

Hot sunny day, so ideal with its tidy gardens, well labelled for plant lovers. The house is an historical gem and you can interact with items. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely tea rooms.

Our visit yesterday was such an enjoyable experience! We were made very welcome by all volunteers in the garden, house and tea room. We spent the whole day perusing the labels, chatting with staff, enjoying the guided tour by Chris and the delicious food and drinks. We shall certainly visit again as there was still more to see and do. There are plenty of activities for children to enjoy but also areas for relaxation. A true hidden gem!

Gorgeous house. Full of atmosphere and history. Today we were led back to the gun powder plot as history was brought to life by reenactors. Amazing value for money. Lots to do and learn for all ages. Lovely cakes!
