After reading about this gem on londonist.com I fired an email to museum operators Gary and Frank about opening times. Gary came back to me and a few hours later he’d opened up just for us. What a treat! Email addresses are available on the website.
My friend and I spent 2 hours looking around the two rooms, mostly guided passionately by Gary. He knows so much about the history of the building, the company and the personal stories which make this tour so special. He really is an asset. Just a really unique experience I’ve never had anywhere else.
Accessibility is good though some shelves/cabinets may be too high for wheelchair users.
Highlights include a replica of the cake Peek Freans gifted to the Queen, a boatload of buscuit tins and a section dedicated to the war effort. Highly recommended. Free entry.
