Twenty years ago it was a good art market. Today there are maybe a dozen “artists” peddling complete tat. It’s all images that would fail to pass muster for Hallmark greeting cards. The only thing missing was black velvet paintings.

We needed a unique colourful piece of art for our kitchen to finish it off and we were in london for the weekend so we went along to the Bayswater Road exhibition... There were some lovely pieces of art there at affordable prices and you got to meet the artists and discuss their paintings with them under no pressure. It was great! We met Haydn and bought a painting off him. It’s perfect for our home! It was great to find a unique genuine piece of art that wasn’t either too expensive or a print that everyone has. It is also good to have met the artist and learn the meaning behind the art to tell friends. Buying art from Bayswater Road was the perfect solution for us! 😀

Sidewalk-art at its best, this world famous show on the railings of Kensington Gardens is licensed by Westminster City Council. The Princess Diana Memorial Garden, the Peter Pan statue, the Italian Garden, the Serpentine and the world's favorite Oxford Street shops are all nearby.
Over 150 artists and craftsmen display their own original works - meet the artists and choose from thousands of different exhibits. There are oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, drawings, pastels, in fact pictures in every medium, size, and subject from contemporary abstracts and traditional landscapes to the tiniest miniature flower paintings.
All exhibits are for sale direct from the artist at studio prices and what you see is what you get - you take your purchase away with you immediately. We are experienced in catering for overseas visitors and can advise on packing and shipping. Paintings can be safely rolled and packed in tubes for taking home as hand luggage, and most artists are happy to sell pictures without the frame if you wish.

Visited Bayswater Road today, disappointed with how few artists were there. It seems as though its vitality has gone. No new art when compared to the 70's. Pity as we have purchased many painting over the years. Paul. Brighton.
