Absolutely love this little museum and love that its always full of local families. A must see if you have little ones.
My son loved "driving" the train and wandering around the fire engine.
The staff are always friendly, welcoming and informative.
The little cafe is very affordable and a lovely inclusion on site.
It was noted there will be works taking place soon to include a new toilet area amongst other refurbishment projects.
Opposite St James Park.

My kids and I really like this museum. One really enjoyed the craft section (super helpful lady) and my other child loved being the driver of the Victoria line train (see photo).

Lovely little museum with a lot of interesting old machinery, ancient fire engines and tube carriages and some lovely craft activities for the kids. Staff and really keen and helpful and happy to explain the artefacts.
Our family really enjoyed our visit.

Best place in walthamstow to entertain kids and it's FREE with an amazing team of volunteers.
Original Victoria line carriage and old bus where kids can run around and even try the driver cabin.
Fire engine and fire fighting memorabilia
Train model of the overground line between Liverpool st and Chingford depicting the local area.
Craft workshop for kids, colouring, sticking or painting.

Small, child friendly museum with Sunday crafts for under fives, a model railway, lots of miniature fire engines and a full size tube train. Always an enjoyable Sunday visit if you’re local.

Perfect activity for a vehicle obsessed toddler, they have fire engines, tractor and tubes and trucks. Excellent kids activity space for children. Lovely cafe with cakes and treats. Will visit multiple times. Best of all, it’s free!

The museum itself is a great initiative and recommended for the families (on Sundays). However, during the week nights, it became a function venue with loads of noise until late hours - mostly due to the catering staff playing loud music until they finish the cleanup. And how hard it is to avoid chucking bags of empty bottles into the bins after 10PM? Everyone living next door has either babies or young children who are already in beds, only to be awaken by shouting and loud bass. Two stars off for that reason.

Great place to take your children to and go through, see the engines and also attend the various workshops. Best day to visit is Sunday from 10.30 and the workshops usually start at 12.00
