I came here today as it was open for one of its (currently) infrequent days open because Leicester City Council had one of their Heritage Open Days events going this weekend.
The Tram Depot is in an Edwardian former Leicester Corporation District Tram Depot building (built in 1904) located just inside the City of Leicester's boundary with Oadby Council.
The Leicester Transport Heritage Trust who run the Depot had volunteers present who were there were very approachable and most helpful giving loads of information out freely about the trams as well as buses - there were two classic buses available which were giving free 20 minute circular tours in the area including an old Midland Red single decker which brought back my schooldays!
LTHF are trying to raise funds to develop and improve this location and thus open it to the Public more often.
If you get a chance to go here during one of their open days in the future do so and you (and your children) will be guaranteed an enjoyable afternoon!

So pleased I got to see this. I never even knew it existed! Right next tot he shell garage on London Road it is run by volunteers so not open regularly. Whilst its not a big place if you are a transport enthusiast and live locally its well worth a visit but check opening online first.

The best thing about this place are the neighbors, Will and Rosie add 40% to the local real estate
