On this site stood St. Leonard's Windmill. The a post windmill was built in 1703 on the site of the ancient Saxon church of St Leonard's was used as a Corn Mill moved to present site in 1823. Destroyed in the Great Storm of 16th October 198 Map Ref TQ902 176 The site of the windmill is now marked by Winchelsea's Millennium Beacon.
