A little hidden gem in the heart of London. Here the foundry is just on the high street tucked away. A tiny place so don't blink or you might miss it and not open everyday so dpunkw check opening days and times if you want to visit

Why is this place closed? So sad, a place with attachment to so much history.

The Whitechapel Bell Foundry was a business in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. At the time of the closure of its Whitechapel premises, it was the oldest manufacturing company in Great Britain.

The bell foundry primarily made church bells and their fittings and accessories, although it also provided single tolling bells, carillon bells and handbells. The foundry was notable for being the original manufacturer of the Liberty Bell, a famous non-religious symbol of United States independence, and for re-casting Big Ben, which rings from the north clock tower (the Elizabeth Tower) at the Houses of Parliament in London.

Sad that it’s closed. Heard it got bought out by an American and they’ve decided to close it for a while. Whoever knows why. Went by to see if there was any blue history plaque or anything to be seen. Nope.. at most their is a door that leads into the building. Open up ASAP
