It's free and even in terrible weather you would struggle to spend 30 minutes here. It's a terrible injustice to the community and people of Swansea. Either no-one over the centuries has donated to their museum or someone is keeping it all under lock and key as it's certainly not on show to the public! Dire entrance, no customer service, not much of a gift shop, dated displays and drab atmosphere.

When I visited there was an appalling exhibition on clothes, a stale life size replica of a Welsh kitchen that's been on display since 1919 seemingly and an abandoned stuffed animal section. Bizarrely an Egyptian room that was just weird. Why is there nothing on the heritage, shipping, trade, beauty and industry of swansea?

It's enroute from the city centre to the harbour so worth peeking into especially in poor weather as it has free toilets but it needs someone to love and regenerate it.

It's definitely historic and some items are really cool and the paintings are a wow factor....but for the size of the building and for how many famous people are from wales i think more modern stuff should be added to

There could be lot more sections... with each section having more creative stuff added from parts of wales....
Example ...shows in grand theatre shows at liberty stadium...
Clothes from musical/clothes from 70/80/90/2000....

I just think more creativeness needs to be added....

It was a wonderful experience. We saw a calligraphy event and the visitors were very educated on all types of calligraphy. So many beautiful paintings up the stairs, the dinosaur fossils are incredible. However, the animal room was by far the best room! There are displays of a giraffe head, bull bison and a eagle with its wings spread. It is a must do while being in swansea! There’s also a kids room for small children to watch shows, colour and read books.

It was nice to visit the oldest museum in Wales. Loved the new section for typography. Great to also see some well curated and beautiful books.

Great place to visit. Love it

Great little museum! Free entry, nearest parking is a 1hr disc zone unless you walk from St. David's multi storey or the marina car park.
The staff were lovely and really helpful!
They have a mummy on display too which I recommend seeing!

Very friendly staff, lovely exhibitions. Highly recommend!
Parking is very limited but I parked in St David’s multi-storey and walked across in less than five minutes (parking is only £2 all day after 9:30)

This is a very good place to go and learn the history of Swansea. I even got to see a mummy 🤗. It's very an educational place and you don't have to pay to visit the place. Kids can roam freely under supervision of course and they even have some calligraphy classes on Saturdays if there is a volunteer Available. I highly recommend this place
