Informative displays at the museum give the visitor a good overview of the coal-mining industry and the effect it had on people's lives.
The "engine room", which powered the winding gear to lower and raise the cages in which miners went to their workplace, has been restored and maintained carefully. The guide gave us an enlightening talk about the machinery and the lives of miners, illustrated from his personal experience.

Fascinating, almost hidden, piece of Welsh mining history. Very knowledgeable volunteers are enthusiastic and interesting and can also teach you about the origins and meanings of Welsh place names.

Lovely little museum. I actually went to visit the paintings of Howard Roberts. Not much parking but there was an activity on for children outside which did use up the car park but found parking at the building behind

Lovely slice of history and we got to see the winder in action. Just need to sort out the tills so purchases are smoother.

We took the children to a mini miners event, what a lovely well organised few hours. Arts and craft, demonstrations, interactive for the children. Overall it was a lovely morning and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Oh and although I'm almost 40 I enjoyed making the miners lamp 😂 thanks and hopefully we can have more events in the future.

Fabulous chance to get up close and personal with a serious bit of mining kit. Small venue with history of the local area.
