Brilliant place.. Gives an old piano a new lease of life...

Been looking for a piano for our Grandson and having tried various piano shops this place was brilliant... He tried about 15 different pianos and settled on one. Paul, the owner, was very knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy.

We ended up buying not the most Expensive but the Best piano for us...

I highly recommend this company for their top brand refurbished(Both inside and out) of classic older traditional pianos.
For myself, I had been looking for such a piano for a while, and had found sadly, many (Good ) piano stores, did not appreciate my requirement , that a second hand piano needs to look good on the outside as well ,as it is also a piece of furniture!!
Paul and his team were just a joy to deal with. Paul has a deep and extensive knowledge of all aspects of the piano , and was also sensitive to my sadness of having to dispose of my (Worn out) much loved existing piano. He very kindly fitted the sconces that came from the disposed instrument onto the stunning Welmar I bought online (As i was unable to view in person) but was able to view it on Youtube being played. The specialist delivery team were amazing as I have a very narrow front door! The online pictures did not do the piano justice. The repolished case work is stunning! And my tuner (Who worked for Welmar) rated the inside (workings) and my purchase as excellent on his visit today.

I have had an amazing experience with Paul at the Derbyshire Piano Workshop. I bought a Bechstein upright that Paul supported and helped me choose. My Saturday visit was incredibly valuable that completely supported my decision to buy but importantly, which piano to buy.
Paul was 100% informative, patient and thorough throughout the whole process from decision making to delivery. I cannot recommend his business enough if you are looking for that 'special' piano.

Brilliant from start to finish. Paul was outstanding in every respect and a refreshing change from the casual approach to customer services these days.

We viewed and played around twenty pianos, all presented in first class condition. As often happens, we bought the first instrument we tried and are delighted. Paul had it regulated within 24 hours and it was perfect. A Celeste rail was ordered and delayed delivery by a few days but this was certainly no fault of the business and Paul’s communication was excellent throughout. The piano was delivered on the stated day and time.
If you are looking for customer service, flexibility, choice and a keen price then try this place first.

A wide selection of pianos across 2 floors. I spent 2 hours trying all the upstairs ones and Paul is very nice and not judgemental about my playing after 15 years without one. When I’d narrowed it down to two he moved them so they were next to each other in the same room for a proper comparison when I went back the next week. Delivery was a couple of days later. I’m really happy. They are walking distance for me but well worth travelling much further.

Amazing help, advice and service with finding a wonderful Bechstein 9. Paul and team have a huge amount of knowledge and experience, and a huge range of excellent instruments to try, as well as quick and safe delivery. The piano I have is an absolute joy to have and play, everything that I was looking for, for my professional work and for pleasure. I can’t thank you enough!

Fantastic experience start to finish. Paul was always quick to respond to emails before my visit to the shop. When I finally got to go to the shop and try the pianos (covid year), it was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. Greeted by Paul and taken to see what he had to offer. We started downstairs with the modern selection of mostly Welmars and Knights. These were fantastic. Though Paul was not a player himself he was clearly proud to show off his stock. Quality pianos, no rubbish. Then we went upstairs to play the Bechsteins and other beautiful old, mainly German, pianos. A certain Richard Lipp was unbelievable! There was no rush, I could flick between pianos as much as I wanted and play every piano in the shop. I ended up with a great Knight K10. Perfect for a young growing family. When I live in my Victorian mansion house, I go back for the Richard Lipp.

I went on Saturday and the piano was delivered Monday 10am. At about 10:05, the piano was in the house. Happy days. If you’re in the market for a piano, I’d highly recommend Paul and his team at the Derbyshire piano workshop.
